This is true. I totally appreciate comments and yes there are less of it now compared to 10 years ago.

I can only look to myself when it comes to commenting.

So +fav is something I myself doing to often :/

I don't actively watch for art on FA anymore, partially because I expect the site to keel over and die any day now, but when something catches my eye, I try to comment. I know how it feels to upload art, seemingly into the void, when it goes unacknowledged.

DA is dead. i know thousends of pictures every hour but comment/view/fav wise, it seems dead. nobody cares there if you not one of those DD gods.

and other furry sides? all dead/crap/the same like DA in this specific topic so i gave them up.

but yes i comment too if i really like it and try to comment... i know my comments are mostly dumb... but i tried x3

Oh DA is awful, and I don't have a great alternative at the ready. But that won't keep the site from going when it goes.

i've made it a habit to reply to every comment on my work so its more rewarding for the commentor to comment again and to show appreciation for their comment unless its a comment to start trouble

Yeah I gotta start doing that, 's gotta come from both sides I suppose.

I leave comments when I find some thing intriguing but sadly Most of what I CAN say is "good job" because I don't know enough of the "how" of art to be able to comment on the techniques of the art itself/style/media/etc...

But I can always give a "thumbs up"

"Good job" is always great, but if there's something you like (the colour, the background, the pose) it's SUPER helpful if people share that. A "Hey I like her expression" and such is so good and helpful.

Oh you, it's always fun to see your comments, on other people's work as well.

I tend to think that FA restructured the preview windows, some time back. Which made it far easier to preview the works...from afar. Thus, making it far easier to never click into the work to register a view, allow for a favorite or even leave a comment.

I've not noticed any restructuring, but then I haven't followed site development very closely.

It's easy to lose track of how much time has passed. I want to say this happened at least a year ago...if not closer to two.

Very true. I'm trying to do more comments myself, though I struggle with what to comment with sometimes. ^_^;;;
