Got hit by a car =\

In a few hours, it is my birthday (October the 26th). Yesterday, though, I thought for a second I would never get to celebrate it.
As I was going back home after work, I got hit by a car. The driver thought it was clever to simply go through the sidewalk instead of driving on his lane for 10 more meters before turning right. Except I was there. On the sidewalk. I won't lie, when I saw the car suddenly turn and go in my direction at full speed, I didn't even had time to get scared or anything. I instinctly threw myself on the side, which allowed me to only get hit by the wing and mirror of the car rather than being hit full front. I landed on my side and elbow. I got several scratches and bruises. Immediately got up, checking if I was actually still alive. The driver got out. Asking me from where I was coming. Tried to find excuses. There was a witness. Myself I was under shock. I knew I was bleeding as my right side was feeling wet and sore. Taking off jacket, I showed the badly scratched area to the guys. I didn't want to argue or listen to them. I just wanted to get first aid.
Thankfully there was a pharmacy nearby. I could walk there to seek for help. A bit later, the driver entered, followed by the witness. The guy checked if I wasn't dying. And then he ran away at first occasion. I was still under shock. I didn't think about reading their numberplate or taking their name.
I managed to get back home after receiving first aid. Went to the doctor and hospital for a check up. Turned out I thankfully didn't have any broken bone save for a broken phalanx on the thumb. But I got bad bruises, and traumatic muscular contractures following the shock. Because of this, I am currently unable to walk. I will need to rest for a couple of days (up to a week) to recover. I am staying in bed. Thinking about how this event could have been much worse if I hadn't jumped on the side. At the moment, that's pretty much all I can think about..
So I am still here and alive. And tomorrow I'll turn 29. Up for another year of drawings, as soon as I am in a better shape.

Sorry you've had so much trouble hun, if it means anything i wish you a speedy recovery and a happy birthday
*hugs again* Take it easy, as long as you have to. We'll be here when you get back.
I hope the witness left some information or the pharmacy can help with something indeed. He left before the cops came so that's a hit-and-run either way you look at it.
As a driver, I feel he's entitled to lose his license for that stunt.
And be sure to have a happy birthday tomorrow, even if it's just spent recovering *hugs*
Try to see if the pharmacy or any nearby businesses have any CCTV footage of the event. You were lucky, the next person this guy hits might not be.
Get well buddy, stay safe.
Take your time to get well and heal up your body and clear your mind.
A lot of hugs for you.
not sure what else to say, even though everything turned out ok, that was pretty scary...
Hopefully you heal quickly!
Get well soon
Go ahead and rest up. I comprehend the offputting indifference the driver showed and how it seems they were looking for a way out instead of expressing genuine concern towards you, the pedestrian, and remorse over their action - right now, you should bask in the relief and in respite of being alive. You take care of yourself. I thank God this hasn't turned out to be worse, I wish you the best for tomorrow. I'll see to wishing you the best of birthdays
did you survive?
Don't get hit by anymore cars.
And when you're able, get him to pay for your damages.
I don't think anyone would blame you for not getting the license number off the guy when your life was on the line like that. However, if he walked into the pharmacy, maybe they've got his face on camera. Might be worth looking into when you're feeling up to it. Hopefully, if nothing else, the guy learned to be more careful now that he's almost accidentally killed someone. It scares me how easily people get permission to operate these massive tools that can be used as weapons, intentionally or not.
In any event, wish you a Happy Birthday and happier times ahead!
I'll tell you what I did; I got a lawyer. You might want to talk with one as well. I ended up with a busted clavicle and months of recuperating. I'm glad I got a lawyer. You might want to consider getting one as well. Talking with one won't hurt you if nothing else.
Anyways, I hope the incident was reported so that jerk gets the law kicked into him while you get a lawyer.
Finally, Happy birthday. ^^
Glad you are alive and no serious injuries
Please be safe and take care
Wish you a speedy recover and Happy Birthday
Happy birthday, though! Glad you're okay.
Happy birthday too!
Hope recovery is swift.
Happy Birthday to you, and may indeed there be many, many more to come!
Dominus tecum
Even if you didn't geet his information, hopefully he will get his just desserts at some point. Did you file a police report?
Anyway, happy birthday, I am glad you're 29 now! Hopefully a quick recovery in your future! <3
Honestly wish you to be better!
Here, have a virtual hug.
*Hug*
*gros hug*
I hope you had a good birthday yesterday, regardless.
Just wanted to say https://www.reddit.com/r/eyebleach is a fun thing.
Get well soon!
Take as much time as you need. And hope you had a good birthday!
Glad you came out of it in one piece, though! Definitely take pride in having dodged the reaper's scythe, at least this once! Take all the time you need to get well, and remember not to force it. Things take time to heal, both physically and emotionally!
