Updates, Bday, Furcons!

Phew! Its been a quite a while since I made a personal journal of sorts, so I thought now would be a good time for a new one as any.
Last few months have been busy as hell. Situation here in Russia isnt exactly stable at the moment, which kept me focused on work and RL matters to the best of my ability to keep everything going ok and smoothly on my side of things. Finally having more free time nowadays though, so slowly getting back to FA and checking over all the things I missed! Dont forget that my Discord and Telegram are right there on my FA profile free for anyone to add. If you wrote me with a question recently without a responce, do feel free to poke again, because RL takes most of my focus nowadays.
My bday is coming up, which is 16 November. Nothing exciting, but its always nice to look back and check out the progress i've made over the past year. Every time someone says "ugh, a year older now" they often miss all the things they've progressed or improved in over the year, no matter how small. For online-side of things, it definetly makes me most happy to see good reception towards Nik, my male side. As I already wrote earlier - sure, Nika is fun, but at the end of the day im a big russian dude, not a slim big-titty shark gf. And it has been most inspiring and mood-upping to watch people enjoy that RL side of me and treat me like I actually am :)
Another thing is Furcons! I still have not been to any real big western furcon yet, sadly. With help of my western friends i've been working hard to try to get into MFF this December, but sadly chances arent looking the best right now, thanks to US customs treating me as "evil Russian spy untill proven otherwise" by default, even if for something as simple as a tourist visa. Cold war 2, amirite? Anyway, what im curious about is to hear YOUR experiences about furcons as a whole! What furcons have you been to, and how did it all go? Do share in the comments, super curious to know what people think about different cons!

Personally I've attended both those two, as well as Anthrocon and Furry Weekend Atlanta. Between the list I think I've managed to hit a convention in every size bracket. Each one has been an absolute blast in their own way. At the heart of it, it's all about getting the opportunity to hang out with online friends in a judgement-free environment and indulge in a little bit of fuzzy nonsense.
While there's something special about seeing thousands upon thousands of people getting into spirit of things in Pittsburgh, my con highlight so far has been just chilling at the hotel bar with a buddy while they drink from longneck bottles in full suit.
Cons aside, it's awesome that folks are taking well to Nik! He's such an awesome character!
Cons themselves are pretty fun in a group, I personally have met alot or artists from FA at them, and it is pretty fun to people watch. You see alot of cool and strange folks about and most of them are pretty approachable to chat and stuff. Oh and people drink alot at cons. Like alot :v
Ive never been to a furcon myself, though i might head to one eventually, i just have other things i need to focus on
I personally have never had much of an interest in going to any kind of furcon. But I would for sure go to one if it meant getting a chance to meet and socialize with you, man!
On a personal note, I apologize for the difficulty in coming to visit the US. I know there's a lot of people in the US who'd probably really enjoy meeting you, including myself. Some people really believe that Russia is this big bad evil country that's even worse than the USSR lol and that Putin is even worse than Stalin lol. It certainly didn't help when our horrendous news channels and companies, exaggerated anything and everything involving Russian affairs.
And who knows, might even meet at a con someday indeed!
As for Furcons, never been to one not sure if any take place here in Orlando ^^; Buuuuuut we do have Megacon which is always Exciting as you can meet Voice Actors and more, Was Exciting the first time I went and would do it again ^^
I love going out and eating with my groups, especially at MFF. Hofbrah and Burts Place being the major two I like to hit, Hofbrah especially in the middle of the weekend seeing as many suiters love to go over and hangout in the restaurant and be big goofs.
I will say though, if you have never been to a con as big as MFF, be ready for sensory overload...and walking, a lot of walking. And by god do not be claustrophobic, because with that many people walking around, you will feel as through the walls are closing in at some points. Just make sure and keep a good sense of direction and strictly adhere to the 621 rule.
6 hours of sleep, 2 meals, and 1 shower.
Don't need anymore musky huskies than there already are....
Although last year I don't think I caught a single whiff of one. Which is remarkable seeing as there were over 10k people there! XD
Also, panels. Enjoy many of them. I especially love Whose Lion is it Anyway. If you enjoyed the regular show on TV, you'll love watching it when there a bunch of furries on stage acting it out!
Not claustraphobic at all myself. Something something being a Russian who goes through Moscow metro tunnels every day with millions of other people, lol.
And yeah, never ever saw furs suiting or doing any kind of performances IRL, i imagine it would be fun to see
Sucks tho that ist so hard to get to the US for you. I didn't know that the US would treat just average Russian people like that. Pretty dumb, honestly. But hopefully one day you can make it! Optimism helps a lot, and if you can be optimistic thats a beautiful thing ^-^. And hey if you can make it this year, I can meet you there haha.

I've never been to a furcon yet, but I hear that they are fantastic places to go to, you get to meet other lovely and kind furrys, artists, content, movies, games, ETC....
If you can't get into USA to go to a furcon there, you can always try the UK, we are usually friendly to any country or nation on earth and we have plenty of famous and awesome furcons to go to.
Either way I hope your feeling great and hopefully life in MOTHER RUSSIA will treat you better soon and I'll make sure to try and keep in touch with such a cute and handsome Shark as yourself on Telegram or Discord
