Yeah, the grinding was a weak element in Adventure. I actually did enjoy the watercraft, though.

Marine, on the other hand, just seemed like another throwaway character. They should build more on Blaze.

Yeah. That seems to be the consensus among nearly all the fans. Marine really wasn't all that great of a character. Blaze, on the other hand, is one of the few characters a lot of people like

Yeah. As much as I hate to admit, the series has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. At its best, it's an awesome series. At its worse, at least it gives you material to laugh at.

I don't care what anyone says, from my own experiences it's clear to me most of the hate for newer sonic games is entirely because its the cool thing to do. Heck, I'd argue Sonic Chronicles was, in fact, a GREAT game (case in point: its the only game where I've been able to stand (and willingly use) Big the cat).

Never played Sonic Unleashed, but my own personal 'gallery says it was pretty good.

Yeah. It really is becoming popular to hate the Sonic series. Not that they haven't done anything to deserve it, but they get it worse than they deserve.

And really, Unleashed wasn't too bad. It wasn't a masterpiece, but one's ensured to at least like half the game.

but really, sonic 2 was my all time favorite game growing up, heck i still punch sonic recolors out of respect for the hog in blue
sonic heros was alright, but the new ones, im just too afraid of having the camera fling me off the stage, like in Angst sonics game, id pick up a gun and then the camera would say NO GUNS and id be dead

but..the SEGA chorus at the beginning has sold me

I'll admit I haven't played Shadow the Hedghog, or Sonic 2006, so I haven't witnessed their horror firsthand. But, yeah. Unleashed proved Sega had potential, so here's hoping this one will finally do it right. Or at least right enough.

2D is a step in the right direction, for sure. I actually don't mind a few of the newer games, but for me Sonic & Knuckles was the pinnacle. Best gameplay balance, cool story, and everything else.

Yeah. I agree. The 3d games aren't the blasphemy people make it out to be, but I think it's time they stepped back some and go about bringing the formula into this age a different way.
