If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out they had passed? There are numerous people I've been interacting with online for many years, a couple of them just one day never logged in again, and I've always wondered what that means.

There was a group of his friends who got together to help him a couple years ago, so when one found out about it from his mate, they passed it onto the group.

What? How?

Ouch. That's my great fear. My father died of a heart attack while he was asleep.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I didn't know him. I follow cartoonwolf (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/cartoonwolf/) and he posted about it. Obviously, he knew Milgrove and was touched concerning his passing.

This is probably the first time I've run across this situation for myself -- someone in the fandom who I used to be extremely close to in the fandom has died.

I would say that Milgrove and I were boyfriends in the early-mid-1990s, though our relationship was only ever Internet long-distance. By the late 90s we had drifted apart, and eventually lost contact. I hadn't spoken to him for some time, but I felt that cold stab when I saw your journal subject. I immediately thought "Wait, he doesn't mean... THAT Milgrove, does he?" This leaves me a mix of muddled and confused emotions inside.
