I've seen the leaks myself (was trying to avoid them but someone sent them to me) and I'm still excited for the games. The Galar region looks beautiful and some of the new mechanics look awesome.

No I don’t dislike you for liking these games. But please know that I will be critical to these games. Now I’m not gonna lambast The Pokemon Company and Gamefreak for every little thing wrong in the game. Some of it is petty and minor. However that doesn’t exclude some of the crap they pulled and their shockingly condescending tone from criticism. I’m not a blind lover of these games. (From best to worst Gen 5, 3, 2, 4, 6, 7, 1). I would like to give this game a fair shot as well. I’ve even got me a full team planned. I truly want to see if I can rekindle my love with Pokémon because Kivwolf? To be honest? I didn’t enjoy Gen 7. At all. I see the good in it but I would rather not replay it again. I really hope Gen 8 pulls something out of left field because it desperately needs it from the look of things. Remember this is coming from a guy who had dropped Pokémon for a couple of years so I’ll compare it to other RPGs that aren’t Pokémon since I don’t want my fresh feelings for Gen 7 to get too far in the way. I’ll also try to be making a Journal/Video noting the positives and negatives of this game if I can get off my lazy ass to do so. Anyways that’s all for now. I’ll see you around in about 5+ days.

I too decided to get Sword (pre-downloaded).

Like sure there's one thing that made me hella sad but it won't ruin the fun experience I know I will have!

I decided to get sword. Even with all the bad things, im still excited to play this game. I am a bit disappointed my favorite pokemon isnt in the game though.

I mean, Pokémon has been a go-to series for new games.
I have gotten every gen since the Gold/Silver remakes (HeartGold/SoulSilver, not the Diamon/Perl games tho) and enjoyed pretty much every game.

For me the games have been relatively stale, as the visuals got better and better but the NPC didn't "evolve" with the time. I find it somewhat sad to see so little love poured into them, as they just stand idle without any interaction whatsoever.

But anyway, I already agreed with a friend of mine to get the Combo Steelbox with her, and split the games up :D
I get to enjoy the newest addition to the series for a little bit lower than store price, but I'll probably play the game for the next couple weeks :D
