Journal about me. I guess.
Greetings. My name is Lucas Denny. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and I am First Nation, Mi'kmaq.
I am currently 21 years old and I'm pretty dang sure that I'm a guy. I mean, I gots meself a penis and those two dangly things below it.
I currently live with my mother, two of my three siblings, my sister's two kids and a dog. I'm the youngest of my siblings.
I also live in the smallest room of the house. I have my mattress on the floor because it's easier for my dog — who's getting up there in years — to climb on it and lie down. I have a computer, laptop, and several consoles in my room:
N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, DS, 3DS, New 3DS XL, Gameboy Advance and PS4 (I only used my PS4 like, three times and I had it for at least a year now).
Some talents... talents... talents... let's see... ... ...I'm... good at impressions? Whenever I play Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates, I try my best to do impressions of the characters who are currently speaking. I can do a pretty good Virion and Ryoma.
I guess I'm also good at whistling. I whistle a lot. Whenever I'm just browsing around on various websites, I play some Smooth McGroove and whistle along with his singing.
I suppose another talent would be that I'd say that I'm pretty good at writing. I'm very imaginative. For example, I love Fire Emblem (not as much as I used to, but I still love it) and I created a little story with characters I've made up a while ago. When I first created it, I didn't really have a story in mind, I just had fun making palette swaps of the GBA Fire Emblem game sprites when I was younger. I just eventually decided to give those sprites some personality and eventually I made a story to go along with it. It's not finished and I constantly forget about it and go back to it and make many revisions. I only have the story part, nothing else. I'm not an artist or a programmer or anything like that, so even if I do ever finish it, it's extremely likely that it'll just remain a little story on my laptop.
Previously, I mentioned that I'm Mi'kmaq. Sadly, I know little of the history (mainly because I'm quite forgetful) and know little of the language. I can speak it quite easily, but other than that, pretty bad at everything else.
I can say things like: "Kwe, taliaq." Which translates to: "Hey, what's up." But that's really about it.
Where am I at in life... I'd say neither good nor bad. Pretty neutral, honestly. It's relatively average. Nothing to be ashamed of nor anything to proud of.
I would like to do something, it's just that I lack the drive and enthusiasm to do really anything. I wouldn't say I'm depressed, I just lack motivation.
Money-wise, it's really nice being Mi'kmaq. Being First Nation in Canada is really a blessing. We don't have to pay for the typical expensive stuff that others would have to like school, dentist, glasses, occasional household items like beds, washing machines, fridges, etc...
For the household items, we still do have to pay ourselves if we wish to get a new one, but after like, 5, 10 years(?) we can get a new one that we don't have to pay for.
Why is it like that? Well, I don't know the specifics, but something about how the government treated the First Nations people like shit in the past (if you're curious, look up Residential Schools in Canada, for an example) and I believe this is their way of making amends or something. That could be totally wrong, I don't know.
Also, we gets cheques every two weeks.
Where do I want to head in life? That's a good question. And my answer is likely the same as most, I don't know. I have no real path that I'm heading towards. I guess all that I really strive for at the moment would be to make friends who I can chat with casually whenever I can. I may have other luxuries in life, but having any friends I can talk to on a daily basic is not one of them. Don't get me wrong, I have friends and it's certainly not their fault, I just can't find the strength to talk to them for some reason.
I guess that's it. A few extra random facts about me:
I'm double-jointed in all of my fingers.
I can make a weird cracking noise with my index fingers and left foot.
My initials are LCD and I once did a project in school about LCD lights.
I am honestly having a hard time thinking of random facts about myself.
I talk to myself a lot.
I'm very quiet.
And that's about it, I guess. Thanks for reading.
