Just thought I would post some silly meta trivia about my favourite green loser
1. Ganrigora has the nickname Greenie simply because it took me like a week or so to decide on an actual name for him. By the time I thought of the name Ganrigora I had already been calling him Greenie a lot and it just stuck.
2. Greenie is his nickname not only because he was green, but also because his original concept had him being a genie. So Greenie is a mixture of green genie.
3. I cannot for the life of me remember how I came up with the name Ganrigora :/ all I knew was that I wanted a name that started with a G
4. The name of his species, Soljinnra, contains a throwback to when he was designed to be a genie. The middle syllable, jinn, is a reference to djinn. The other two syllables, sol and ra, are both references to the sun, seeing as his species worship the sun as their goddess.
5. I was inspired to draw him after playing Breathe of the Wild and falling in love with Prince Sidon.
6. When I first created him he was simply meant to just be a one off drawing, he was never intended to become a character I would use. But I fell in love with him instantly.
7. When I first drew him I had not thought about whether he would be a reptile or not. Hence why his design has nipples.
8. While his design has become streamlined over the years, the only real changes I have made to his design were to change his tail pattern slightly within a few weeks of creating him, and to more recently add an extra claw on each foot.
9. I don't mind when artists forget a few of his markings (he has a lot of spots after all :P) however I have noticed that his nose spots seem to be the most missed ones for some reason.
