Commissions update
When it comes to working with me, i like to be as transparent as i possibly can be.
So i thought i make this little journal entry to help refresh what it is like to work with me personally, what to expect and why i feel this method works for everyone in mind.
The more references the better!:
When working with a 3d artist it is slightly a bit different than working with 2d commission artists, both have a different mindset in the field the have to work around with.
For 2d artist they have to visualize what their making and put it down on paper that has no rotations or axis in a 3d space ((unless their animating))
With 3d artist we are like children who need instruction, the more references and examples you supply us with give us a better understanding of your vision in a 3d space to help form a body on all areas like calves, breast size, deformation detailing, etc.
so the more is the better ^w^
never be ashamed to give us your all in what "You" are wanting out of this hire.
Paypal:
Now some other people might work with a different method of payment, but when it comes to me and my practice i use this method to help insure that :
a.) I have documents and receipts to show what you are paying for, what is on the list and if anything shadiness happens both on my side and your side paypal has a method of looking into it.
B.) i can work on a "DOWN PAYMENT" method. I don't like being payed in full right out the gate as i feel i myself need to earn my keep.
But also its a better form of accepting the terms and agreement we both made in this hire.
I don't work until half the payment is done and when this happens it is a confirmation and understanding agreement that this is what we both wish to do.
i give you the option as well to pay in full if you really wish to and even tip if you feel i deserve a bit more than what i am selling as i am told i undersell myself and abilities.
All and all this is what makes me comfortable and i hope makes you the employer comfortable as well.
Business discord:
As of late i have recently decided to make myself a server discord dedicated to literally my customers past and present and me.
Like video game updates on patch notes, i constantly keep updating this to both keep myself in check but also keep you in the loop.
regardless of this group if you wish to decline joining i keep you updated in messages with pictures, videos of the creation currently in progress so you can get what you want and change what might be needed to help make your vision come true.
since this has happened, i have felt more organized in what i am doing.
Why do you sell for so cheap compared to some other 3d artists here?:
While i wish i could sell things for 700$ a pop, i realize that not everyone is a fucking millionaire.
I want people to feel they can still get something awesome and nice for even a cheaper price than my other artist competitors in this sector.
When i worked on second life items, i did the same thing for my shop, i didn't want things i made to be "1000 linden" i wanted to price things fairly based on how i personally felt they where worth but also make people smile as they can have something of mine and really enjoy it and feel
"Holy crap, i didn't have to decide on if i could eat this week or not"
i have been in those situations and i never enjoyed it, if people want to tip me a bit more for something i make then by all means, i REALLY appreciate it, but it is never required to have to sell a arm to get something i make and work for them.
i just require, respect, good vibes, a decent price to help me afford some art tools and smiles.
what happens when hired with me:
You get to be hands on with the creation from the start.
almost daily i send you pictures and updates of the body and the idea you have in mind for it on discord.
from there, it starts coming to light and once finished and the final payment is given ((if you only did half))
you acquire a zip file with inside a password
a license agreement stating what is allowed with the model etc.
a .blend file for the latest blender version to open the model in detail.
baked texture maps like normal maps, speculor, emission, ao maps etc.
a rigged model with a armature skeleton.
outside the zip i usually make a turntable video of the model i created, the name of the person who commissioned me, or persons who commissioned me.
and if it is for vrchat, well, depending on what you bought like facial animations etc.
we go in-game and i transfer you the stuff.
Ending:
I hope this gives you a good overlook of how it is working with me, and i hope if other people are out in this sector doing commission work, maybe even learn from this as i have heard loads of horror stories and well, i never want to be listed as one of those creators who comes off as a scumbag.
so thanks for reading and i hope to see you in my list of people wanting something created by me.
