We don't need a new layout. What we need is the ability to search through galleries and favorites as well as the ability to organize our favorites with folders just like how we are able to with our submissions.

It needs all that, and I wish like e621 it had a bit more rigorous tagging system. Im sure I’m missing plenty of lovely art because half the stuff I do find lacks many real tags.

I'd be satisfied with having the urls of our favorites pages be something like user/Xodiac/favorites/page1, or the like. That way it'd be easy to go and replace "page1" with "page33". As it is I have to click "next" 33 times. Some way to search or organize is better, sure, but I'd be okay with simply this.
