See, told ya. You're safe heh.
Oh...phew....uh...why's everything...dark?
What?....Oh for the love of....*furious clicking* What IS it with humans and changing things so much and....THERE we go, back to normal...
Oh boy...another new year...
Yeah...pfft.
Come on, let's do the thing about what we're looking forward to!
Eh, not much...
Oh come ooooon! Even the little things! Think of anything.
Pff....ok. ok.....lets see.....
Games of 2020
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Probably the most anticipated thing of the year...and like Kingdom Hearts, it appears in the first three months. Essh. What's with the good stuff at the start of the year and things sucking later? Anyway, this has been a want for a LOT OF PEOPLE ever since the PS3's graphical showcase. Seeing such an iconic entry in the FF series updated is cool and all, though am a bit wary of the episodic format and whatever the new content is (and boy does it seem like they're adding in some big stuff). That said, if they keep even just half of the FF7 stuff and can manage to make just a SECTION of the original as a full game, then, well, something to look forward to.
The Last of Us Part 2
The original was a real cringe for, well, all of us when playing/watching. That's because it's so real and so tense, with the rough edges brought on by a near-truthful interpretation of a spore infestation and how humanity can be just as dangerous in a rather vegative apocolypse. I have to say, a little reminded of Doru and Randall when I played this, though the later didn't let the former play it at first (though he already did heh). The first part was AMAZING when it came out and it still shines today. This next part seems to up the stakes even MORE with a personal touch of revenge being the driving force. Honestly, if you played the first, and seen this one's playable trailer, you know why people look forward to this one.
Psychonauts 2
This was way back in the PS2 days, where a BUNCH of good stuff was. The original Psychonauts was made by Double Fine Productions. But it's Tim Schafter's work with Full THrottle and Grim Fandango that sealed the deal for me, that was awesome, funny work, and Psychonauts proved to be in the same ballpark, even more so with it's strange but alluring concept of entering the minds of others. The second one is coming soon, and it's focus on a greater threat and the explaination of Raz's past is too tempting to pass up.
Also, funny note, Raz's VA is Richard Horvitz, who recently did work in Helluva Boss, a side-project from the maker of Hazbin Hotel. Props to Horvitz for managing to return as Raz while at the same time supporting an independant project!
Cyberpunk 2077
Honestly, I neverh eard of the original before. I know, right? But I'm keeping myself on closed doors about this one so that if I take interest, it'll be fresh and new. All I know is that Keanu Reeves is involved somehow. Then again, he's also included in a future Bill & Ted, so I don't know what that says about him nowadays....then again, John Wick's awesome.
Tales of Arise
It's a Tales game, 'enough said. Though I am a bit cocnerned that it'll depart from the core of the series' attributes....
Resident Evil 3
I've seen AH's work with 2, and it looks like the remake came out pretty well. Introducing 3 seems like the logical next step (uh...so no 1 by the way?). The Nemisis? Oh jeez....that guy popping up out of nowhere in the original...how's he gonna be in THIS!?
Digimon Survive
Honestly, one problem with Pokemon/Digimon games is that it implies that lower-levels, like Rookies and first-stage Pokemon, are too weak to stand up to bigger boys...which is kinda against the whole 'underdog' concept...which is why I don't really play them too much. What attracts me to THIS game, though, is the concept of it's danger and alarming fact of death. Digimon got ahead of the curve in terms of that with the passing of Wizardmon, way before Pokemon FINALLY bit the bullet with a death of it's own, albiet not as talked about. This just goes to show that Digimon's got a bit more maturity than Pokemon does, and given that the series is also getting a movie that shows how the original 7 have evolved on their own...it's going to be an interesting year for Digis.
Fiilms of 2020
Mulan
...oh, wait, no Mushu...nah, nevermind THAT.
Bad Boys for Life
Slight interest. I saw the original two a LONG time ago, and they were fun enough. I guess it's just nice to see Will Smith possibly going back to his comfort zone again after the whole Genie thing.
Sonic The Hedgehog
THEY FIX IT. Well, the design of Sonic at least. The story will probably suck. I mean, WHY move it to Earth? Put it on Mobius....ugh. Oh well, you can't ask for perfection every time. Dedicated fans, just wait for the reboot. You know, like how they did for Spiderman like 5 times.
Artemis Fowl
Actually NOT looking forward to this, given how they butchered it. I'll be fair and give it a view maybe before final judgment....but...I've read the books....'enough said.
Ghostbusters Afterlife
The Ghostbusters 'reboot' was....ehh, ok. I mean it was living up to the originals and all so...anyway, this new Afterlife thing seems to be a continuation of the originals instead, with direct callbacks and a new, younger batch of Ghostbusters finding the old tools of the original four. I have to say the preview didn't give away TOO much, mostly as to what 'threat' there is, as no real ghosts were actually seen (curious)...so if they keep up that kind of hidden momentum, it might turn out well.
Dolittle
I actually recently saw a trailer for this, and honestly, am surprised Robert Downey Jr. was allowed out of the Iron Man suit to do something else. But, glad. I was getting Sherlock Holmes vibes from the trailer, which is awesome, I loved those films, and honestly think it'll be enjoyable.
Ehh...all I can think of for now, and I'm exhausted....
Oooh nice! Not bad! See, a few things!
Some of them are a bit wavy but ehh...honestly...probably going to be the same as last year...why are these things celebrated again...?
