So this is the new year, is it? I don't feel any different, as Death Cab For Cutie sings in "The New Year." At the very end of 2018 I couldn't help but feel that the coming new year would be one of phenomenal change. On some levels, it was, when you consider our finalizing plans for emmigration. But after seeing the past year or past decade remembrances on other people's social media feeds, I can't really follow suit. Certainly the biggest thing that actually happened to us in the past 10 years is the birth and raising of our own little Fuss-fuss in 2017. But other than that, things become hazy. Some areas of our lives became deteriorated, others built up.

But regardless, looking back on 2019 it seems to me that it was a precursor year...a build-up year...a warm-up act year before the headlining act year. So, 2020 could be the year that all the machinery of planning and preparation and hopes and dreams and fears finally gets set into motion. With any luck - and hope - on January 2, 2121 we can look back on this year and wonder H the everliving F did we ever make it through - but sooooooo glad that our journey was made, and now enjoy the fruits of all our labor and sacrifice.
