First, I’d like to say thank you everybody who’s supported me over the years.

The 2010’s was a crazy time for me. In that span, I graduated high school, served in the military, got scammed out the butt by many people after my service and a few months ago I finally pulled myself out of the toxic situations I kept finding myself in! There’s still many challenges up ahead, but I know I can overcome them all.

Now, about the topic on hand. Yes, you heard me right - Gilead is retiring, as of today, from being my fursona. I AM, however, remaining in the fandom!

Why, might you ask?

When I created Gilead in name, I was searching, long and hard, for a unique dragon I could call my own. Gilead was my only sense of Identity I had, so I needed him to be as unique as he is now. For a long time, this unique design has stood the test of time as a symbol of who I am.

But that changed suddenly about a year ago.

See, I wasn’t just searching for a unique dragon. I was searching for MY dragon. I knew then that I am a dragon at heart, and that certainly hasn’t changed! Last year, though? I figured it out. The sheer epiphany brought me joy I hadn’t felt since I created Gilead from scratch. Ever since then, my feelings for this dragon has only grown.

Today, I finally reached the tipping point. Gilead, to me, is just a furry character. I love him, I adore him, but I simply cannot with a good conscience say that I am a dragolotl anymore. Starting today, I will be going by a new name - Mimu (It’s a japaneese name I crafted meaning “Good result, truth” and “dream, vision.” You can see where I’m going with this.

Mimu is a noodle dragon, and hopefully in the next few days I’ll have a new account set up for him.

So what’s next?

First, as mentioned, I’ll be making a new account. Then I’ll start by posting my most recent art on there to begin, start watching some of my old favorites on the new and unwatching with the old account. After that I’ll reformat Gilead’s page to be a character page where I post all gilead related stuff there, and have a notice to allow people to continue to watch me on my new account!

So yeah... there you have it. Thank you all for helping me through the 10’s. ...and I’m excited to say, it’s time for something fresh and new for the 20’s.

Mimu A.K.A. Gilead

Edit: So much has happened since this post. Mimu getting TF'd into a kobold, the pandemic, moving, so much... and with discord, telegram and Twitter (befoere it became Musky) I simply didn't have the energy to maintain my FA account anymore. But times change, and with X slowly becoming more distopian and hostile (and with the migration away slowly reaching the tipping point) I think it may be worth, sometime in the coming months, to finally host a new account.

I can't make any promises, but if I do come back in full from my hiatus, I'll post a new journal here. Thank you all for keeping me around.
