How do you feel about the recent Amy Rouge trend?

After someone made a tweet about replacing Rouge with Amy for a Sonic Adventure 2 cutscene, the official Sonic twitter retweeted it and led to a recent trend of drawing Amy in Rouge's outfit.
I'm personally personally enjoying it. More Sonic gal art is always nice to see, and the outfit coaxes people to draw her more filled out, well, sometimes. Besides, Rouge's spy suit is inherently sexy!
But!
A number of people seem annoyed at this trend for some reason. I know for a fact that over-saturation of things you're not that into can make you dislike a thing, even come to hate it*, but this thing's not even the most prevalent trend there's been. Remember Bowsette? Or all those virgin-killer sweater pics? There were like a million of those. But Amy Rouge pics are only really drawn by artists that already do Sonic stuff on occasion, and even then they'll just do the one. Yet people feel the need to take some kind of stand and insist on drawing a different gal in the suit. Which is fine, more Sonic gal art! But it still feels hipstery.
So what are your feelings on the recent trend? If you're annoyed by it, why is that?
*(Like can we draw Rouge fucking someone other than Tails? Or other Sonic guys getting action in general? At least have him fucking Wave! It's canon!)

At least the sweater memes involve different characters and can cover a more broad spectrum of ideas and can be more transformative. Amy wearing Rouge's outfit is just a woman borrowing another's oufit.
Even the sweater mostly boiled down to characters posing sexy in it or going "What the fuck is this?". Plus both that one and Bowsette had hentai artists and human western artists getting in on it, increasing the saturation, instead of just a subset of furries.
Although I share the desire for more involved porn as well. Pinups are great, intercourse is great, but there's rarely much that helps show a character's personality and character. Rouge's personality being imposed on Amy isn't as much of a contrast as it could be compared to others, given how horny she normally is (or used to be anyway)
Amy in Rouge's outfit mixes things up a bit, but in a very uninspired way. And that's where the backlash comes from: Why is this nothing of an idea so fascinating that everyone is drawing it? It's not interesting enough to merit this kind of fervor.
Also Amy sucks and is boring and people need to stop trying to force her to be sexy because I'm not buyin' it. XD
I still stand by my statement that the fad isn't nearly as widespread as past ones have been, as it's not something that would be drawn by artists that wouldn't already draw Sonic content.
Amy's tied with Rouge for second favorite Sonic gal for me, and is the second most drawn Sonic gal in porn after Rouge (at least as posted on e621 and rule34.xxx). Though I wish people drew her more bottom heavy more often.
And personally, I prefer Rouge dressing up like Amy and chasing Knuckles while pretending to be innocent.
And that does sound cute!
And it is! It's hard to find but it's totally great.
