For a while, I've toyed with the idea of doing sorts of commissions.. not quite like usual commissions, but more like a cheap service where I'll do photoshop work and stuff. It's mostly a way to encourage myself to do more artsy stuff on a regular basis, which will keep me motivated to practice, learn, and progress! ^.=.^
So, since I'm still a total noob at creating artwork from scratch, I'm instead planning to offer things like a coloring service for sketches or linearts that you already have, and maybe basic shading and backgrounds as well. There's just so many pieces that we wish went beyond a sketch, but the artist has no plans to return to (or it's just too time consuming), whereas it's simple and fun for me to be able to just pull one up and pump out some colors in my spare time.
The other idea I've been planning is a sort of.. "Stickerizing" service, where I'll basically make a telegram sticker for you out of preexisting artwork. That could mean basic cropping for facial expressions/reaction stickers, or more in-depth stuff like pulling a character out of a picture, adding transparency and such, borders, just generally making it work really well as a telegram sticker. I've done this quite a few times for friends, because it's no fun when you're the only one without your own personal sticker set!
Obviously, I'll only do these sorts of works if the original artist of the image I'll be using/modifying gives permission to do so. That is very important, because some artists prefer to do these things themselves, and rightfully so! The last thing I'd want to do is disrespect the incredible artists in our communities.
That said, I want to ask you all, is this something you'd be interested in?
What sort of pricing schemes do you feel would be fair for coloring preexisting sketches / lineart?
And for creating stickers out of preexisting artwork?
