Wow: A JG-2 in the LA Times today...

Thanks to
Vawlkee pointing out that an image of one of my JG-2s made it into a strange montage of photos used in the Sundays printed E section, reviewing a book called "In the valley of Kings"!
I find it quite awesome, actually!

FA+

If you don't drop them a little reminder - I will.
The Images of my masks arent the same thing as the actual mask itself: I would have a fit if someone else would reproduce my mask and resell it, as in this case I have the original molds plus Tons of people proving that these have been on the market for quite some time already.
I look at it the way that one uses a picture of a bottle of Coca Cola: These days people pretty much use the picture all over the place without needing to give credit: Is a Picture of a bottle of coke as cool and refreshing as actually having a bottle of coke?
And thus I see the same thing with my mask here: The Picture isn't as good as owning the actual mask itself.
Also, there are tons of people who have bought the mask, and whom are using the mask in their own photos: Just like I wont go after them, I wont go after the Times.
Besides: I see it as a free advertisement of the existance of my masks in one of the biggest circulating newspapers around :)
Simply put, they used your personal property without either your permission or posting your name. If someone does that with the "mouse" they get sued............DO NOT let this slide!
You and I will discuss it later - privately.
JG-1?
buh?
I don't think it woudl do you good to sue a newspaper because they brought a photo of one of your creations without permission. it would be as if they got sued because one of their photos showed an actual car by say we, Chevrolet without asking permission from GM.
that disney goes after users of Mickey Mouse-like images is because they have copyrighted the character design and likenesses. and a hundredfold of similar likenesses... which only shows they are greedy and jealous. and does this do them any good? I don't think so.
but in the end, it's ypour decision.
hm, is there a link to that newspaper article? :)
