My eyesight is failing and I'm at risk of becoming blind.
Yeah, it's the diabetes.
I don't see faces anymore unless the person is standing next to me. I recognize people now by their voices and shapes and body language.
Every morning, I have a cup of coffee in front of my rehab looking at the sun and the sky and committing them to memory.
My left eye, formerly my good eye, is pretty useless. I can't read with it anymore. My vision is distorted in my right eye. I can read tablet and computer screens because the text is backlit. Regular books are difficult for me at best. Large print helps some.
And that's about it.
Do me a favor, guys. Don't stop taking care of yourself likely did. Right after the Mona debacle, I gave up on myself and this is what happened because of it. I stopped exercising and ate crap and this is my reward. I might be begging for a kidney pretty soon.
