Your opinion on YCHs

Hello again!
I've been wondering about offering YCHs for quite a long time, but never tried it.
I have no experience in offering nor buying YCH slots.
Friends and I have spoken about the topic a couple of times but they seem to prefer commissions over YCHs as well.
Do you like offering/buying YCHs slots?
How do you feel about those?
I'm just curious what people think about the topic in general

and yeah, no those YCHs that get resold multiple times don't sound like anything I'd consider offering l 3

Fairly often I'd like to get an artwork from an artist, but have no idea what pose/situation I want. YCH gives me the opportunity to get something fun for both the artist (who can choose their favourite topic) and for me as the customer.
I'm the kind of commissioner who loves surprises so I just sorta hand my oc over and let the artist do their thing haha

I personally don't feel like it's a good idea either.
It's less special/personal to the buyer and I personally as an artist would get Terribly bored just reworking the same picture over and over again

I wouldn't even know if I'd make all that many
But I kinda want to at least try one out
