Working at a hospital I've been putting the stuff from staff flu vaccination consent forms onto a huge spreadsheet. It's both illuminating and dismaying to see some of the reasons qualified medical professionals have put down for refusing to get vaccinated.

I hear ya loud and clear. I travel for around 3/4 of the year and every year someone catches something nasty because they didnt prep. Least I fucked up with the flu and not cholera or something scary like that.

Props for working at a hospital. Having nosocomephobia, I can't comprehend how someone can have the guts to expose themselves to so many illnesses on the daily.

I'm just working a minimum wage admin job tucked away in a semi-cosy office (got our own little kitchen area so it's easy to make a cup of tea). It used to be a ward so a lot of the unused space is used for miscellaneous storage. They recently shifted the big load of training-only PRPS suits about to make room for working ones and other cool emergency doodads in case we get a bout of the you-know-what.

My "favourite" reasons for not getting vaccinated are a toss up between "I believe in my own immunity" and a proper qualified MD with a name that marks her as being an adherent of a certain religion claiming that the vaccine contains pork. Bearing in mind that people made a big effort to source a vegan alternative for people who were especially persnicketty.

Well at least you're not in the middle of the chaos and actually sounds like a cozy spot to work in.

Religion I figured would be the primary reason for practitioners to avoid vaccination, but trusting their own immune system over proven medicine? That's just stupid. Weapons grade stupid. smh
