My Top 10 Hardest Velo's Ghosts in Nitro-Fueled
6 years ago
General
Heya buds. How are things going? I'm doing good as well. ^^
Now for this one, I'm just gonna be talking about the Velo's Ghosts in CTR: Nitro-Fueled. Now to explain, ever since the Gasmoxia GP has came along with Emperor Velo(Aka: Fake Velo) added, they also added a new batch of Time Trial ghosts of Emperor Velo, but this time, a lot faster than even Oxide's ghosts and that he takes shortcuts better than even Oxide, but this time, with a new catch, you will be able to unlock the Champion Kart in either online or offline. To explain is to unlock the Champion Kart is to just beat all of Oxide's ghosts in all of the CTR, CNK, and Bonus tracks, and you'll get not only that kart, but you'll also get Oxide's decal in the process. Now to unlock Velo's decal is to beat all of Velo's ghosts in all of the tracks, which some of them are pretty easy while some of them are actually hard that they have given everyone a hard time with those ghosts. Even though I am very proud to beaten all of Velo's ghosts, however, they are still hard to deal with. So for this one, I'm gonna count down my Top 10 of the hardest of the Velo's Ghosts I tackled in Nitro-Fueled. Now for this one, it's of my own personal opinion, so if your favorite track is in the list, don't take it personal. There are some courses that I do enjoy. It's that it was due to that some of the problems that's given everyone a hard time to keep the momentum going. So anyways, let's get started.
Number 10: Coco Park
Now to kick things off is a simple and easy course, however Velo's Ghost won't give you any breathing room for any error that time. Now to start off, he will let you take the shortcut, but not for you to realize that he's getting the Turbo Pad to keep the Sacred Fire going. Now what you decide is up to you at your own pace if you want to take the shortcut at the start or you rather get the Sacred Fire by getting the Turbo Pad. Either way, you have to do what you can to keep the Sacred Fire going while cutting corners so that way he won't try to get close to you. There's no gaps there despite that it's a short and basic course. So hope you can handle cutting corners and keep him from catching up to you.
Number 9: Blizzard Bluff
Once again, it's a short and easy course there, but once again Velo's Ghost won't give you any breathing room, but this time, he'll do a river shortcut also if you handled it very well, so he won't let you shake off of him that easily. So if you're a Speedy character, keep focusing and do what you can to stay ahead or the best way to beat him is to do the fence shortcut, however, it's not easy to pull it off. But if you have plenty of practice with the shortcut, you can overtake him. Although it's probably the hardest fence shortcut in the entire game, so you might have a hard time with it unless you gotten used to it to the point that you can get even further ahead of him which thankfully Velo's Ghost never goes for that shortcut, but due to reasons. So if you can handle it, then you'll be able to beat him.
Number 8: Gingerbread Joyride
Never thought that Velo's Ghost becomes more harder than ever to make it even worse on the absolute worst of the Bonus Tracks due to the dumbest of reasons. As I said before, he takes the shortcuts better since he can get the Blue Fire fence shortcut better. Although for this one, you have to not only keep the Blue Fire going, but you also have to avoid the Sumo Jellies since I wasn't sure if I knew of their pattern, so they might be RNG. The reason why I had it lower was because I had it better than before and that I was able to avoid the Sumo Jellies while keeping the momentum going. So if you are able to keep your eyes peeled of where the Sumo Jellies are about to land and avoid them, then you'll be able to escape out of that and keep the Blue Fire going. Fortunately, Velo's Ghost loses the Blue Fire, so if you can keep on going, you'll be able to overtake him.
Number 7: Nina's Nightmare
Now I'll be frank, Nina's Nightmare is pretty fun to race in, especially to avoid the pumpkins and watch the twists and turns there. It's that there are some tricky parts that might can be difficult, including not only the fence shortcut that sometimes I got it down, sometimes I somewhat got it, yet it slowed me down a little bit, while at times, I just crashed in it. Anyways, not only you have to keep the Blue Fire going along with jumping over the fence, but you also have to deal with keeping it while at the near end of the track because of the hills that can probably throw you off and possibly cause you to lose the Blue Flame. Now the gap is that he'll go for 2 Turbo Pads at the beginning to give you a chance to cutting corners and to get a little further. So if you can keep the Blue Fire all the way, you'll make it there. It is tough to keep on going because I was worried I could mess up on the fence and the near end, but fortunately, I've gotten the hang of the near end and better. But nonetheless, it is pretty tough.
Number 6: Sewer Speedway
Now even though I still had a little hard time, but after getting the hang of the shortcut, I've gotten better at this track, however, Velo's Ghost will test that theory for yourself since you gotta do the shortcut 3 times while avoiding barrels and cutting corners. Now fortunately, I was able to figure out how to do this shortcut completely that I can actually get it down without a problem. But the bigger problem is that I gotta try to pray and avoid it. Although in the 2nd lap and further, that's where I have to pray and hopefully that I avoid the barrels while keeping the Sacred Fire momentum going. Fortunately, I've gotten better at it since then just like I surprisingly gotten a lot better in Polar Pass after knowing what Velo does, but if you got good prayers, then hopefully you'll be able to survive through that and beaten him.
Number 5: Hot Air Skyway
This one, I had a couple of issues on this course for 2 reasons. One was the spiral at the beginning while the 2nd, keeping the Blue Fire going. Now for the spiral one, it's tough to keep up the momentum going especially that at times, whenever it feels like it, the Blue Fire will suddenly go out. Anyways, as soon as you're done with the spiral, you'll be able to get the Blue Fire going. Although it's tough to try to keep your speed while maintaining the Blue Fire. Although fortunately at times, I was able to get the U-Turn shortcut at the end of the track very much fine, but I wasn't sure if I can maintain it further by the time I get to the spiral again, which fortunately, Velo's Ghost will lose the Blue Fire once he gets there too. Now at times, during the 2nd lap, as soon as I was at the straight path, the Blue Fire is suddenly gone whenever it feels like it, which is stupid. Fortunately, I was able to figure out a new strategy that before the turbo pad of the straight path, I took a leap of faith which to help get an even more boost by jumping up. So on the bright note, I've gotten somewhat the hang of it, but it can be tricky at times unless I'm ready to keep it going with a big leap of faith there. So overall, it was tough, but at least I'm glad that I was able to beat that after learned a new strategy.
Number 4: Cortex Castle
Now for this one, it's a lot harder due to that... well... I just can't drive around with this track with less time of drifting as fast as possible. At least in Hot Air Skyway, you can drift without much of a problem. The tricky part is keeping the Blue Fire, which not only I have to avoid the spiders, but I also have to pray for the best to survive the quick turn and keeping the Blue Fire going, although I would have to be lucky to keep the Blue Fire for the entire track. Although fortunately, Velo loses his Blue Fire in the 2nd and final laps along with that during the final lap, he does get hit by the spider. But even that, it gives me more trouble than bargained for when it comes to turning as fast as possible while keeping the Blue Fire going. But if you can manage to keep the Blue Fire momentum going, then you'll be able to blaze past that ghost and will be able to beat him there.
Number 3: Dragon Mines
This next one... Oh boy... That's where the troubles begin. A very short, yet very difficult course since there is only one Turbo Pad that you'll be able to use at the near end of the track to get the Sacred Fire momentum started. Now to make matters worse is that not only you got to avoid the mine carts which will hurt you and mess you up, but you also gotta deal with... a huge sharp U-Turn while climbing up, which makes it even more harder and worse and to be fair, I really can't drive through around that once I get there. Not to mention that it can be easier to make you lose the Sacred Fire momentum as well unless you're super lucky enough to survive that. To make matters worse, Velo won't let you up that easily since he doesn't have any gaps, which makes it even worse. So you gotta keep that momentum going and you'll be able to make it there. I'll be frank, dealing with this ghost gives me more trouble than ever since I keep crashing to the mine carts whenever they feel like it while at times if I mess up on the turning badly, then Velo would've overtaken me. But I'm glad after so many tries, I was able to survive through that in the end. But overall, I'm not sure if others will be happy after dealing with Velo's Ghost on this tough course there.
Number 2: Out of Time
The very course that everyone has a very hard time with Velo's Ghost of all time there. Now I know you're thinking, "Why is it on number 2?" Well to answer is that I'll admit, it really did gave me a hard time and that it got me very frustrated when it comes to doing what I can to keep the momentum going since Velo won't actually let up that easily for most of the entire course. So for this one, you have to jump the mini ramp to get the Sacred Fire while jumping over the fence shortcut. Now the big catch is keeping the Blue Fire going since for the beginning, when I jumped the Mini-Ramp, I didn't have enough time to react, which I learned my lesson and made sure not to jump the Mini-Ramp again as soon as I got the Blue Fire and instead, I just go around the mini-ramp, so that way I can make more room without making anymore errors. Now the hardest one was keeping the Blue Fire going in the clock, which is pretty tricky which at times, I was able to keep it going, but sometimes, it just goes out to mess up the rest completely. So fortunately, since I was able to get the hang of it further, to the point that I can possibly blaze around the Blue Fire as long as I don't mess up the fence shortcut along with the clock there. Speaking of which, thankfully, in the final lap, Velo loses his Blue Fire while inside the clock to give you a chance to catch up to him. But even that, it still gives me a hard time than I thought, but really glad I finally beaten that ghost after for so long. So anyways, if you can keep your Blue Fire going, then you'll be able to handle this ghost.
Number 1: Deep Sea Driving
Otherwise known as the RNG Track. Now the reason why it's at the highest was one simple thing... The rotating fans. That's why. The fans is so random that you'll never know if the fans hit you or not since it gets you about most of the time, especially at the tunnel section at the near end. Now even though you'll get the Blue Fire going, however, when you get to the tunnel, you go so fast that you could end up running up around the wall to cause you to lose the Blue Fire or that you end up bumping right to the fans to cause you to spin out and lose the Blue Fire. So I couldn't even tell if I was able to avoid the fans or if I can keep the Blue Fire momentum going. So it's like thanks to RNG, all it takes is for me to go wrong move and that's that. Not to mention that it gotten me really frustrated and mad whenever I end up hitting the fans so much that it didn't feel too good at all. Now fortunately, Velo does lose his Blue Fire and gets hit by the fans in both the 2nd and final laps, but even that, he'll still get his Blue Fire back to just swipe it away. Now after so many tries, I was sooo frustrated that I figured that the best way to beat it was that I had to switch the Driving Style to Turn for a reason. Now it won't make me go faster anymore, however, I'll be able to turn very easily, which fortunately, I can watch very closely to pay attention and avoid the fans while keeping the Blue Fire going. Although during that, I pulled off the same thing as WumpaLewis himself did in Out of Time, but this time... in Deep Sea Driving since in the near end of the Final Lap, I got hit by the fans, in thus... well... everything fell apart and I lost. But I'm glad that I eventually beaten that ghost. At least you got a pattern of what you gotta do and keep the Blue Fire in Out of Time, however in this track, it's completely RNG. So if you can find a good strategy to keep the Blue Fire and avoiding the fans, then you'll be able to get past by Velo's Ghost and make it to the end. Also fortunately, you can choose any Driving Style you want as long as you are able to beat Velo's Ghost as your number one priority a lot easier for you.
So in thus, that's my Top 10 of the Hardest Velo's Ghosts in Nitro-Fueled. If you have your own Top 10 Hardest Velo's Ghosts if you either beaten all of them or attempted to, feel free to leave the comments down below and if you like, feel free to explain why as well of your own opinion. Until then, hope you buds have an awesome time and stay determined. (my tail wags) ^.^
