The Haunting in Connecticut

okay... So I finally got around to watching this movie today. It might just be me being sick, but honestly I was quite let down over this movie. The previews made it look amazing and terrifying... but ya know, those scenes of amazing horror from the preview was the only real horror behind the movie.
I wish that I hadn't even picked it up last night to be watched.
Honestly to this date the best horror movie I've seen has been 1401...
other then that, I've seriously got to rid of these hopes of based off of real events horror movies.....

FA+

here's hopin it doesn't depress me as well....
OH on an unrelated flow of topics... the boy and I found a movie that might be your speed...
Its a Stephan Chow movie... its called CJ7. Very cutesy, and very funny! Go find it and watch it. its only SEMI kid friendly... but be forewarned there is a brief death scene... but he gets better.
wasn't scary enough.....
I personally think its much more frightening just NOT knowing, and letting your imagination do the rest.
I think thats part of why Haunting in Conn fell short. Scary movies nowadays do too much to show instead of tell, they take away the audience's ability to be absorbed in the film, get involved in it, make their own imagination be PART of the movie.
White Noise almost had it, Mirrors ALMOST held it together halfway through, but near the end the monster REALLY had a "Final Boss" feel to it! The only thing missing was life bars in the corners of the movie screen! LOL!
and yeah I agree, there really aren't any original scary movies nowdays.
White noise made me laugh during some of it...
but I still hold the claim that 1408 scared the shit out of me..... I watched it at night, and couldn't sleep the rest of that night... roommate woke up to me sitting in the living room, bundled up in a blanket and ALL the lights were on in the house.. and he was like "that good eh?" and i just looked at him, eyes wide and kinda twitchy....
