They're starting to batten down the hatches here at my rehab. The staff here are experienced and always professional, but they're like family, and you can tell if your family is scared.
It is estimated that in the coming months, 96 million people will become sick, and 480,000 will die. Most of the deaths will be elderly, which is now my age demographic.
We've taking precautions and good ideas at the rehab. I now have my own hand sanitizer station in my room and the rehab manager has taken my suggestion to replace all the old doorknobs with brass doorknobs (brass is germicidal).
What sucks is that there will be no more outings for the time being. No trips to the store or buffet or anything else. That rehab in Seattle had a 10% fatality rate, so they're not risking nothing.
It'll still be a few months before the condo is repaired, so I'm stuck here until it is repaired. I'm trying to keep busy: I got the vending machines readjusted to accept coins and paper bills again after the vending machine company went paperless (half the residents here don't even have a phone), I'm working on a directory of nearby fast food places that deliver (ghod, I'd love a couple slices of pizza right now), and I'm trying to get back a cold vending machine so we can buy fresh food.
But I am so ready to go over the wall.
The link to my wishlist is here on my profile of anybody wants to buy an old a book or something. A little tchotchke might save my marbles.
*Hugs*

They're trying. Give my rehab staff "A" for effort.
