Another reason to buy physical copies instead

I can see the joke, but I'm also not sure if you are serious or not. Forgive me if it was indeed a joke.

I'm actually serious about buying and making PC games for physical release. I'm looking forward to do the latter. If only people could donate my FA those shinies

Did you by any chance ended up in the "I accidentally reported you for duped items" scam ? It's something that it's going on from quite a few months, and tons of steam accounts are being hacked because of it DX

I'm finding it weird people are falling for that.
I mean, "I accidentally reported you". And ? I mean, I've got nothing so what ? The report isn't gonna do anything so why should I care ?

Well, what you say is true, but the very first time you see something like that, a bit a fear can surely catch you (knowing that sometimes innocent steam accounts got banned for something they never done). I pretty much was the same when i got my first attempt by one of those scammers, but i luckly got suspecious enough when he said "please, i care for you"... why would a total stranger care about me and my profile that suddent ? The confirm that it was a big scam came when he linked me the profile of the "steam admin"... i'm pretty sure no serious admin on steam would choose a dank Bin Laden as profile pic and be at lever 4 >.>

Well I get stupid on this, I get trapped but not Ben Laden pic like Alex998. When he ask me to join him in discord I understand that was a fake, I changed my password but he changed my email address

Yeah, it slowly became very common along with bot accounts. I got a total of 9 attempts of that scam in only one week. Another friend of mine got his account hacked like that too, but luckly steam support menaged to retrive the account fast enough ><
You should contact them too as soon as possible, expecially because now your account will be used by the scammer to trick other people into that DX

Anyway, they temporarily block your account (so yeah, you won't be able to use it for a bit, just like the guy who stole it) so the real steam admins can fix any damage and kick the thief out of it. You need to be patient.

How did they get into their account exactly? And how couldn't 2FA not help him?
You know there is a recovery key once you sign up with 2FA to use in an emergency if something like this when you are locked out of your account(according to my knowledge).

In few words, an user adds you on steam and says that he accidentally reported you for duped items in your inventory, he then links you the profile of an "admin" you will need to talk to so he can take the report back and the said admin (which in most cases has a faked valve admin medal to trick you more into beliving he is an actual and reliable admin and will also try to be as friendly as possible) asks you to give him your profile details so he can run a check and... well you can imagine what happens when you give them... and of course in all this, neither the 2FA or his recovery key can save you, because this guy pretty much tricked you into giving him you e-mail and password of steam.

Also I don't understand how people fall for this... like think for a bit why does a "steam staff member" need your credentials for your account about a report? You should always contact steam support and not directly message to other person, even if they look legit or actually legit, always get help from steam. Plus I am also shocked that there were no red flags when he "accidentally" reported you and instead of contacting steam support to say the report was a mistake they want you to talk to his super random steam admin so you can give them your login information...

They mostly tend to manipulate the victim's fear of loosing his steam library, and apparently they menage to do it so well people ends up forgetting about that important rule. I too almost fell for it when it first happened.
