Tell writers what you think, even if you hate it. Finally getting around to watching Castlevania: Season 3 and I think I've found what's going to be my favorite line of the season. It happens in episode 5 (11:51 in, if you want to skip to it). Sypha is getting to know Count St. Germain when they notice a worrying rune carved on the lintel of the town entrance.
Sypha: What in the name of God is going on in there?
St. Germain: God? I understood you Speakers to have quite the fractious relationship with God. On today's evidence I wonder if Christianity hasn't gone out of fashion.
Sypha: Oh, God was terrible! He was fierce and jealous...We all know the old stories of God and we fear Him. But Yeshua the Christ, His sacrifice was a lesson in how to love unconditionally. Which only makes sense. As my Grandfather always said, 'We want our children to exceed us in every way.'
Makes perfect sense from the perspective of someone who has on the one hand been raised on the Old Testament version of God and on the other has spent her life persecuted by people claiming to act in His name.
