The "C" Word And I Don't Mean Cloaca

I normally work alone at home so the only difference for me during this lockdown has been some extra PPE when I go to the store and having my husbird working from home too. But, also, it did clear out some con-preparation tasks since both MCFC and BLFC have been postponed. So I've been working diligently on a database that organizes my art, posting tasks, and work queue. Now it can post art too, which I will be giving a try on Patreon later today.
Bottom line is that "it's a huge shit sandwich and we all gotta take a bite." But I want to encourage you too. Just imagine how hard we can party once this is behind us. The hugs and greetings are going to be that much sweeter. Summer is coming instead of the gloom of winter. We can't go to cons or movies or bars. But we can still get together in pairs for a nice walk in the fresh air. Also, think about the social change that this outbreak is forcing. Maybe we'll finally have the momentum to get real progressive change in healthcare, income equality, and worker's rights. Things will never be the same and I, for one, think that the change will be for the better. History bears this out.
So take courage and hang in there. Just for fun, tell me about what personal projects you are working on to pass the time.

I think I am good. creating a extreme Xenophile Bird species, that are rapid breeders in Stellaris.

there is one, that looks like a harpy eagle, but not quite, but there is a straight up parrot, ina enviromental suit.
there is a mod, that adds eagles, but since the last Update its not compatable any more. can´t tell if its gonna be updated, but there are a few Bird portraits. I´m sure there will be something there for you.
in terms of game mechanics, there is nothing specific for birds, but that is true for most phenotypes. the only one that has a special mechanic are the newly addet rocks, and those special mechanics are only a meteroid as colony ship and that they consume minerals for food. so birds do not get anything special for their phenotype, but neather does anyone else.
the species specifics and character comes from the civ creator. those you can mix as you wish, in the given parameters.
for example, I called my civ "horny birds" made them Fanatic xenophile, and egalitarian and made them charismatic and rapid breeders.
the characteristcs and specis attributes are the important part, as those wil vastly change your playstyle and also influences which technologies you are gonna get. those are based on chance and sertain attributes, increase the odds. as fanatic xenophile I got the tech "interspecies breeding" which allows your population to mate with every other species....even rock people.
everyone has his fetishes after all.
but, as a xenophobe civilisation, which is the antipolar of xenophile (meaning mutally exclusive in civ creation) I would have not gotten that tech as no Xenophile scientist would ever get the idea of doing that.
so the game does have huge potential for roleplay and that is definetly the strength of the game. its more of a space age history narration game, than a 4x game. do not expect any deep game mechanics, but that does not need to be bad. in this case I think a less complex game works in favor of keeping the flow of the narration.
so, a lot of roleplay potential and how much bird you can get depends on your roleplay abilities. the game defiently provides you a lot tools for a good story.
I would also stringy advise you to at leats buy all the story packs aswell, as they have the biggest influence on the game and add a lot of events, decision trees and I belive some special techs and scenarios.
