Thought I would make a journal so everyone would know that I'm not dead; my offline life has just been keeping me busy and stressed.
Early last year my Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer and spent most of the year being treated for it, and in November he ended up in the hospital and didn't get to come home until New Years. The doctors found his cancer early and when he took the chemotherapy it took care of most of the cancer. So they removed what was left and he has for the most part recovered. That is one down side of age, I think Toby Keith put it best in his song “As Good As I Once Was” with the line
“ I ain't as good as I once was,
but I am as good once, as I ever was ”
So last year was spent taking care of my folks and helping my Mom and Dad where I could.
This year though... well... The Wuhan Flu what you going to do? Thankfully I have yet to deal with that and with a lot of luck hopefully I won't. Though I don't know how lucky I'll be as my day job puts me in the path of the unseen plague carriers who keep asking “You still don't have any toilet paper?”
So I wash my hands, avoid touching my face, and try to stay as far as I can from people who are coughing (though that could be pollen getting them not the plague. Still; if you don't have to, don't roll the dice if you don't want to roll a one).
I think I'll see if Netflix still has “The Life Of Brian” because I need “to always look on the bright side of life.”
