Ok folks. Here's the deal. If you don't like the prices someone is charging for a service do us all a favor and say.. thanks but I am not interested at this time and be polite about it. For you to say "Well that's too much and I can get this at a better price from X" is just shit to an artist? I bet not. I paid my friend WhyteYote a good amount of money for a story not just because he needed it but because I paid for QUALITY. If there are people that can write stuff you like at a fair price.. GO COMMISSION THEM! But I am going to be DAMNED if I am going to lower my standards because my prices are too high. If you think my prices are too high and you want something for free. Here's two free words for you.

This is something people need to understand. prices are set BY the artist and that is their choice. they know the quality of their work, so for someone to come in and try to haggle with it is beyond idiotic. If I cant afford the prices from an artist, I just move on and try to find someone else I can possibly commission. It isnt that hard, people

I don't think I've ever haggled with an artist over prices, the price and the quality factor together to let me know if I'd like a piece or not. Now if you're selling hardware, I'll beat you down and haggle until someone breaks. Vendor was selling an item for $100, clearly the wrong price, I offered them 15 as it'd been sitting on the table all day, they exploded in what seemed like a five minute tirade about something. when they finished I offered them 20, they pushed the item across the table and growled don't come back. :)
