Let me just say, I do not condone really dumb shit people can do. It is frustrating when people make bad choices which affect us all. Have we have them before? Yep!! I remember all the way back to Eurotrash T.V. which predated even the long-famed Vanity Fair article on furries. We've survived every last one of them, and frankly, Tyra Banks is not Oprah here guys. We'll maybe get a few trolls, a couple really weird pervs, and all wake up the same people we've always been.
Let me ask, do you have a time machine? If the answer is no, then grit your teeth, grow fur on that chest, and realize all your bitching at the person who made this dumb ass error isn't going to change a damned thing now. From all I can gather is she's not old enough to buy beer (so imo 'young), watches Tyra Banks (not the best judgment), and thought it was a good idea (source of all bad ideas). So put them all together and you get what happened.
Despite the idiocy here and my horrid spelling and grammar, she's still a human being who has some of the same wants and needs out of life as we do. Someone to be with, someone to share life with, and so on. No, I am not happy with her actions, but they don't appear to have been done with intention to kill the fandom. So yes, you can be pissed and leave comments, but do realize a person is on the receiving end, and that both name calling and threatening her really don't make us look any better than what she presented on television.
I myself have people on the military base know I'm furry, and my prior job and all of my family know I'm furry and are just fine with it. Why? Because when you deal with humanity in at least a semi-respectful and civil fashion, along with showing some kindness, it is all most people need to see through the bullshit.
So, again I do not enjoy that to brand new people I may have to work a little harder to win them over, but I don't think I'm going to join in with going crazy either.
Oh, and btw, I'm posting this on a site which has shitload of FURRY PORN, some of which depicting minors and your childhood t.v. characters who got you through childhood by being positive images, now being raped. And you're going to put all the shame on this one idiot here? Jeez...

I mean fuckballs, this site on browse has the ability to scroll through by fetish, and there is even one listed for Fursuit (adult). I hate to say it, but it should be hard to get on this person's ass for things we ourselves as a fandom don't do a lot to always work on. Yet in just a day she's gotten a good thousand hatemails, banned from FA, etc. That part makes me want to go get another beer more than anything.
No matter what though, I'm going to be myself, and whatever she said isn't going to change a damned thing about me. I won't let it, and pretty much nobody will think any different of me or any other furry come tomorrow.

nah, I was pretty quiet through all of this...but I do feel good she got what she did. We are not all fortunate to have such understanding people we know, when it comes to the furry fandom :P

Soooooo, the admins banned her with a royally spiteful message, then realized it wasn't the right way to do things and made it a temp ban and changed their message to say that it was to slow down the fires of a thousand angry furries.
Does anyone care about the myriad charities that furs support? No, that's boring.
Anybody want the front page to read about how MUNDANE a fur fan wearing a collared shirt and tie, pushing paper for some mega-corp? No.
Since when does airing episodes of talkshows about BORING every day people who happen to draw, or for that matter, look up cartoon art get audiences to flock to their TV's? Dun happen.
