Language is designed to facilitate communication of one's ideas to another. Without a "audience" the structure and context can rapidly lose stability. This is why talking to yourself helps organize thoughts: treating yourself as an audience allows you to use the structure of language to focus ideas.

So, yes, I would certainly like to read more along similar lines from you.
Length? As long as you need to craft an enjoyable arch for your work; and as concise as you'd like to be in order to keep things flowing and interesting.
Personally, I always greatly favor original verbal and visual art, as well as art featuring "unknown" OCs such as friends' or clients' OCs.
Obviously, I enjoy round and increasingly round characters, as well as their development. ;P That being said, I probably prefer fantasy and regular life settings. Romantic ideas can be cute, but should ideally remain SFW.
