Another Update on my Cancer
General
Well everyone I am home as of Tuesday at 1pm or 1300. I will have to go tomorrow on Friday to the lab to give them some blood so they may see if my counts are continuing to rise. Also now its the time were I have to remain indoors mostly or from as little people contact as possible till my immune system rebuilds itself. Which they said on average is 5 to 6 months for the immune system to recover, at most a year. Also I'll have an anti-viral medication to take for up to a year as my immune system rebuilds itself. Which I found out the reason they give you the medication during this time with all their transplant patients is that almost everyone has Shingles laying dormant inside them or suppressed heavily by their immune system. So with my immune system being compromised till it rebuilds itself the Shingles may activate within me. So the anti-viral medication is to help prevent it from activating.
Also three months from now I have to get another PET scan done to see and make sure that my cancer doesn't or hasn't return. Which I feel pretty good about this and think that its gone now. Little stubborn in the beginning, but I feel like its gone and hopefully soon I can get back to working again and trying to aim for my goals again that I had before all this started.

I've seen it implied in commercials too for shingles vaccines. So I mean unless you've had chickenpox already I suspect the antiviral drugs might be for some other nasty bug going around currently. Either way I'm just curious is all why they say that of all things as a reason. Still listen to your doctor either way and get well soon.
Stay safe and don't go out unless you really have to.
