Rambly venting

I originally didn't want this profile to be negative. But we're in the middle of a global pandemic so whatever.
Last February I got laid off from my job. I've been having a pretty terrible time finding a new job, and the pandemic has made it worse. In fact an application to this one company was going really well, but then they told me they weren't going to hire anyone during the pandemic. So yeah, I'm not in the greatest of spirits.
On top of the actual serious consequences of not having a job, I can't justify buying any commissions now just as I was getting used to the concept. Which would have probably been another Grace the priestess pic again. Which feels slightly weird since it's not like she's my OC. Though all my furry interests besides Grace are, like, mainstream stuff like Renamon where I don't have to pay for any commissions because enough art is publicly available already. Then again there's this one guy on Twitter that's funding half the world's supply of quality Isabelle from Animal Crossing fanart, so I guess Grace commissions could be my thing?
(On the subject of commissions, special shout out to
folk-dude-philip,
skulkers, and
pkuai. Also to
cullsoft for the Grace promotion.)

FA+

Dang, sorry to hear about the rough times with work and upkeep. Having had to endure a year of complete unemployment (within a near 3 year period of nothing but short temp jobs), I understand how depressing and insecure it can feel. Taking the opportunity to get on with some hobbies or new skills is a good way to keep yourself busy during these times and take your mind off of unemployment; I found it was a good time to practice and improve my drawing and painting skills (it was during my unemployment that I signed up with FA, and ironically was starting to get to a point of taking requests when I found full-time work again).
(And now I feel guilty that, for various reasons, I'm not sure if I've ever asked for a Grace commission - back in the day the Shining fan communities seemed to recognise me as such a massive Grace fan that I got used to being "gifted" art and fanworks, though all of it was pretty much SFW...)
