s Faves By Year

Blues Brothers, Caddyshack, The Fog, Airplane, Altered States, and The Shining.
The Howling, The Evil Dead, Stripes, Heavy Metal. And my personal favorite An American Werewolf In London. This one has a story behind it, basically at the time I discovered this movie I was heavily getting into paranormal related movies and mythology especially werecreatures and also the fact it's from John Landis who also directed Animal House peaked my interest. Now don't be fooled, just because it's directed by the same guy who brought you Animal House and Kentucky Fried Movie doesn't mean it's going to be a flat out comedy....oh no, when you watch this movie be prepared to see a mix of comedy and horror with dark humor, lots of blood, snarling beasts that howl at the moon, and of course a painful transformation scene. You might go into this one thinking it's a comedy, but be warned...not all of is it going to tickle your funny bone, so be warned.
Cat People, E.T, Creepshow, Last Unicorn, Basketcase, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Dark Crystal, The Thing.
Doctor Detroit, Easy Money, Flashdance, The Dead Zone (which is super relevant in today's day and age), Twilight Zone: The Movie (despite the unfortunate passing of Vic Morrow and the children and the whole blaming John Landis for the accident thing), Cujo, Christine, Scarface, Return Of The Jedi, Videodrome, Trading Places, National Lampoon's Vacation, and The Hunger. Th e Hunger is definitely my favorite since it is a vampire film that has a slightly scientific take on vampires and also it's very sleek and seductive especially the film's lead characters the vampire couple Miriam and John. Oooh boy, if you love David Bowie, you'll love this movie (but what happens to him at the end is quite depressing).
Sixteen Candles, Amadeus, Splash, Dune, Footloose, This Is Spinal Tap, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Company Of Wolves, Beverly Hills Cop, C.H.U.D, The Toxic Avenger, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Police Academy, Revenge Of The Nerds.
Breakfast Club, Back To The Future, Brewster's Millions, Teen Wolf, Goonies, Silver Bullet, Re-animator, Spies Like Us, A View To A Kill, Once Bitten, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Transylvania 6-5000, Legend, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Lifeforce, Ladyhawke, Rocky IV, Return Of The Living Dead, The Stuff, and Fright Night. Oooh boy, Fright Night. That movie first entered my world when I was looking at an issue of Skywatch (basically TV Guide) and I think it was back in 2008 or 2010 but there was a vampire movie marathon mentioned on one page and there was this lovely redheaded vampiress in a white gown, and the four vampire movies being shown were Love At First Bite, Scream Blacula Scream, Once Bitten and Fright Night. That's definitely one thing I respect that movie channel for, that and showing John Candy movies in March (to go with the anniversary of his death). I was already familiar with Once Bitten due to the fact I had seen it a few times and also because it was the very first Jim Carrey movie I had ever seen on television...actually it was the first Jim Carrey movie ever in general. But I was not familiar with Fright Night so I decided to give it a watch and was enthralled. This movie gets me, they know I love monsters and in particular vampires (just like how The Sound radio station always seems to play a Rolling Stones song whenever i'm around. Not even kidding, that happens. They must know I love Mick Jagger a lot, well him and Keith respectively). And this movie definitely resonates with me to this day and I think about it constantly and even have been inspired by it on several occasions. Not to mention giving me the most charismatic villain i've ever seen in a horror movie and that's Jerry Dandrige, such a suave and charming gentleman...it takes one by surprise when it turns out he actually is a vampire. The red-head vampiress in the magazine? That was Amy Peterson. That was my first glimpse of her before watching the movie.
Back To School, Night Of The Creeps, Little Shop Of Horrors, Big Trouble In Little China, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Top Gun, Three Amigos, Critters, Cobra, Armed and Dangerous, Labyrinth, Terrorvision, Maximum Overdrive, Stand By Me, House, The Great Mouse Detective, Vamp, The Fly.
Dirty Dancing, Evil Dead II, Creepshow 2, Moonstruck, Monster Squad, Spaceballs, The Princess Bride, Dragnet, Good Morning Vietnam, Near Dark, Over The Top, Teen Wolf Too, Witches Of Eastwick, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Hellraiser, The Lost Boys.
Lair Of The White Worm, Waxwork, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, The Blob, Child's Play, Moonwalker, My Stepmother Is An Alien, My Best Friend Is A Vampire, Scooby Doo And The Ghoul School, They Live, Scooby Doo and The Reluctant Werewolf, Scrooged, Rain Man, Critters 2, Oliver and Company, Monkey Shines, Coming To America, Licence to Drive,Willow, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Earth Girls Are Easy, Big, Beetlejuice, The Great Outdoors, Serpent and The Rainbow.
The Little Mermaid, Batman, Pet Sematary, Puppetmaster, Tango and Cash, Collision Course (it is a crime that very few people know of this gem that stars a pre Tonight Show Jay Leno and the late Pat Morita), Chud II: Bud The Chud (Oh Bud, you may not be perfect but you're still fun to watch. Plus how I can say no to a horror/comedy-horror with a catchy theme song?), Fright Night II (well helloooo there Jerry Dandrige's equally as gorgeous and equally as alluring sister), Road House, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Lock Up, My Mom's A Werewolf, Dead Poet's Society, Who's Harry Crumb, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Ghostbusters II, Weekend at Bernie's, The Burbs, Back To The Future II (This movie predicted everything that would happen to us in 2015 onward, it even predicted Trump becoming president), Communion, The Fly II, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, UHF, Uncle Buck (My favorite John Candy movie) and Dream A Little Dream.
