1st Annual Further Hypnosis Art Competition: Fun Fiction!
Further Hypnosis Art Contest 2020
“Fun Fiction”
Theme of the Contest:
"Draw your own take on a hypnosis scene from a movie or TV series!"
Prizes
1st Place: $300 USD
2nd Place: $150 USD
3rd Place: $50 USD
4th Place: $50 USD
5th Place: $50 USD
What does this mean?
It means the scene you are going to draw has to be based off of a movie or TV series but we encourage you to have it feature your own OC characters! Either mingled in with the canon characters or entirely replacing them. Otherwise you can also choose to just use canon characters but we encourage creativity as this will be a factor in the contest.
What kind of scene can I draw?
Any scene you like from any movie or series featuring hypnosis! For example, if there is a scene from a movie where they showed hypnosis but only a tiny bit and you thought “Dang that was hot, I wish they had done more hypno stuff” then draw what you wish they did! Draw your own twist and take on it, completely make it your own! It only has to have elements from the source.
But what if the scene I want to draw had no hypnosis in it but I wish it had?
Then go for it! We hope to encourage new and inspired hypnosis artwork from this contest. Creativity will be a large factor in our judging process. Feel free to take a scene from a movie that you felt should have had hypnosis in it and make it happen!
But what if I want to draw something more common like Kaa or Pokemon?
While we will not be detracting points for using well-known hypno themed scenes we will be awarding points for creativity. This does not mean that a picture featuring Kaa or Hypno (the pokemon) cannot win the contest, but branching out into more uncommon scenes and ideas will likely work in your favor. That being said, if executed well these kinds of scenes are also desirable and will be considered in the competition especially if done uniquely.
But what if I want to draw a scene from a comic?
While this will not be forbidden we would like to say that you do this at your own risk. If you base your entry on a webcomic or do your own version of a scene from a comic book it might hurt your chances as we are looking for scenes from cartoons, films, and series from cable television or internet based streaming services. But as with the previous question if the art is well executed it will have a chance in the running.
What should I draw?
We obviously want to see a hypnosis themed illustration. Again this must be based off of a movie or tv series (This includes live action, cartoon, anime, and even video games). The illustrations you draw can be either SFW or NSFW as you choose! Both will be considered although lewdness is loved, Further Hypnosis is an 18+ chat group after all. As for what kind of kinks you are encouraged to draw, you can draw whatever you’d like! Humiliation, silliness, transformation, vore, etc. nearly anything you want is on the table! However we will be discouraging the use of extreme fetishes such as violent gore, scat, and even diaper usage simply as they are not to our judges tastes and could hurt your score.
Does it have to be furry?
Absolutely not! And although we are a furry community our goal in general is to "Further Hypnosis" as in the love for it and the saturation of it in media and art! We are encouraging all kinds from human, robots, feral, furry, or anything you'd like! We will not be picky or biased towards one category or another. Feel free to pick your favorite scene from any genre or movie and put it forward as your entry.
Can I submit something I've already drawn?
We are going to ask for new submissions only. The purpose of this contest is to introduce new works and new ideas into the community so as part of the rules we are going to ask that you create a new and original piece that has not been posted anywhere previously. As for current WIPs (Works in Progress) that you have lying around and want to finish for the contest we will keep the same ruling. As long as it has not been uploaded previously we will allow it, but if we've seen it before it may hurt your chances.
What if I don't have a Fur Affinity account?
We will be accepting submissions mostly through Fur Affinity but if you do not have a Fur Affinity account and have a profile on another website such as Deviant Art, Inkbunny, Sofurry, or etc. we will be accepting submissions from those sites as well. We do ask that if you do have a Fur Affinity account to please use this first as it will make it easier on us during sorting and judging. If you do want to sign up without a Fur Affinity account please send an email to furtherhypnosis[at]gmail.com with the header "Contest Sign Up" while putting your profile link and user name in the body. We will reply shortly with a confirmation.
What counts as a hypnosis scene?
Any scene involving any form of mind control, hypnosis, trance, even some sleep walking! As long as a person's mind is affected somehow it counts. This could be through tech control, eyes, collars, music, whatever works! Although body control isn't something we are going to be particularly looking for as this is a mind control themed contest. We want to see your take on the classics and even more so some new ideas not thought of yet! Whether this means you can either take a scene that already has a form of hypno in it and make it your, or take a scene that didn't have hypnosis in it but you think should have and show us what you got.
What about Video Games?
You may absolutely use video games as a format to base your work off of. We originally didn't think of this but now that it has been brought up, yes, we would love to see some examples from video games as well. However, we still maintain that you do your best to make your work original and creative, make the scene your own and show us how imaginative you can be!
But if I think other artists are better than me how can I win?
This contest's main focus is going to be about the scene you present. We want to see your idea of a fun hypnosis scene based off a series, movie, show, or game that you enjoy! And though quality of the art work will be a factor it is not the main thing we are looking for. If someone draws a picture that took forty hours to make but the most hypno stuff it has in it is just someone saying "I'm feeling sleepy" without any signs of mind control in it that picture does not stand a very good chance at winning compared to a picture someone put five hours into but shows off a super fun scene idea with lots of creativity and hypnotic fun! Give it your best and we'll take every piece into consideration.

How Judging will be Decided
We will be judging the entries based on the following factors.
Style and Execution - We want to see you take ownership of the scene you have in mind, and whether you mimic the style it is inspired from or use your own style is completely up to you! But we do expect it to be recognizable in some aspect to the original inspiration.
Quality and Effort - While we understand there are many talented artists out there with impressive skill we will be looking for quality in artwork and taking into factor time and effort put into the work. That being said we understand how intimidating a contest can be when bigger names enter so this will not be a giant factor in the contest and we will consider budding artists or less complex styles as valid entries to be taken seriously.
Fun and Creativity - This contest is all about having fun and trying something new or creative! We will be looking for pictures that show emotion, creativity, and a unique flair. We want to see your take on a silly stupor, a dark dream, a titillating trance! Whether the theme of your hypnotic mischief is dark or light, silly or serious, we want to see your hypnotic fantasy on paper (so to speak). This is a major factor in our judging!
Apparency of Hypnosis - Another major factor in our judging will be the apparent use of hypnosis. This means a picture where it’s questionable whether someone is being hypnotized or not will most likely fail to catch our attention as judges. We want to see hypnotic fun happening as plain as day!
