General
I am in great need to Flick right now as I have the royal crown in my Able Sisters store and need to get 500,000 more bells to afford it.
I am willing to offer any of my duplicate fossils if desired, some DIY cards, and missing fishing tourney items as I have some duplicates, I have oranges pears and peaches.
So if anyone has Flick on their island please let me know.
***Never mind, Flick does NOT take bugs if you are a visitor.***

FA+

Royal Crown and Crown can be catalogue ordered now.
I did confirm that Flick won't buy insects if you are a visitor, so yeah. =P
It turns out, it is possible to breed blue roses from orange roses, there's more than one way to breed blues.
But it's all a complex system of rose lineage.

Different lineages can make certain offspring between two parents more likely.
The main point though is that any roses with some red, yellow, and white ancestry, has a chance of breeding blue roses from another of such ancestry. There's a specific gene for orange roses that is very likely to produce blues, 25% rather than merely 1.5%.
Maybe I can invite some friends to water the few reds I've got.
Blue roses can be bred from red, white, yellow, orange or pink roses. It doesn't seem like purple roses can produce blue roses, though.
Actually, it turns out that apparently orange roses found on rare islands will always have the gene type "2-2-1-1", which when bred with each other will have a 6.25% of producing blue roses with the gene type "2-2-0-0".
However, if the orange roses produce more orange roses, these can have the gene types "2-2-0-0", "2-2-0-1", "2-2-1-0", or "2-2-1-1".
Anything that is not "2-2-1-1" is incapable of producing blue roses.
Once you successfully produce a pair of "2-2-2-0" gene blue roses though, breeding these with each other is guaranteed to produce blues and only blues. They can also produce blues if bred with a "2-2-1-0" type orange rose, but it's 50/50.
I mean I did get enough money for the crown. =P
