Haha I got a little tired of seeing my journal from 2019 on here! So here's a new one!
The end of 2019 was really busy for me, in the thick of moving to our new house, Ryoku and I just had so much to do. We also attended MFF which was wonderful. I came home with a bit of a backlog of work though, and it's still been keeping me busy. A lot of fun projects though! I'll slowly be posting what I can here. On FA it takes so long to upload and I just, stopped enjoying it. It's a bit too tedious now.
Hmm, first bit of this year went okay. I had a bit of a sad and cold trip up to NY to see my family for my birthday. My friend from Florida was there too and we had a good time re-connecting. I also got to see an old pal Urban-Coyote for dinner as well and it was awesome. Talking a lot about the ye olde furry days is hilarious to me and there's so much to remember it feels like. Anyone else around from Yerf/VCL/Furnation days? I still can't believe I've been posting art for 19-ish years. Just. Wild. My husband and I met on the VCL forums and have been together 7 years so I'm constantly reeling at how long it's been! I MISS forums. Discord does not do it for me.
Last con I attended was FurtheMore which was interesting. New hotel was pretty, if a little small feeling. Roomed with strangers who were kind but there's something to be said for rooming with people you just don't know at all. I was incredibly lonely. Ughh I hope I never have to ever do that again.
Speaking of cons, all my planned ones have been cancelled (for good reason, due to the pandemic currently affecting the world) I know it's hard to make those decisions. The con I'm staff on I'm relieved stepped down. I was just...not ready for it. Complicated feelings are involved with that one too and I'll probably be stepping down. I just don't like the other members and feel very ignored and insulted often.
Sorry!! I haven't written long journals in a super long time. Just twitter posts, haha!! I wish everyone the best of luck tho, I may be trying to pick up little small merch items that I can afford or commissions! I want to buy art! Or trade if I have time!! I want big himbo/bara art >:)
Otherwise, I'm just trying to survive. A lot is going on, week to week. Yeah, I remember all those old sites - been participating in furry stuff for 20 years now, and I remember finding your VCL archives early on!
Heck, I miss forum posting too, I oughta do a journal like this.
It's for the better that everything ended up canceling, because I KNOW someone will be completely irresponsible about it and literally put the whole community in jeopardy. The q'tine has done wonders for rearranging my priorities though.
