It is but makes no sence since they we're unwilling to drop the cost so paying 2560 plus court costs will take over like 10 years to pay back

How are they handling interest?

And I can tell you EXACTLY why they are doing that. They are hoping that you will miss ONE payment so they can take you back to court in the future (when your financial situation would have changed) and get it all. It keeps the account open. make your payments on time - at LEAST mail it out 10 days early! And keep record of every check cashed. if you can arrange automatic withdrawls from a checking account even better . . . not to mention it screws them a little bit because they get bank fees for that usually. XD
