Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars!
Here's an old recipe I got from my mom- Warning: THESE ARE ADDICTIVE AS HELL.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
1/2 cup butter, unsalted.
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
1 3/4 cup white flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
16 ounces of chocolate chips, divided
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 9x12 cake pan.
Cream the butter and sugars together until well blended. Add the egg and water, and mix well. in a separate bowl (I use a tupperware bin and shake them to mix) mix the flour, salt, soda and baking powder, then stir into the butter mixture. Add 8 ounces of chocolate chips- I use a mix of dark and milk chocolate for the chips in the batter.
Once mixed together, take the dough and place it in the pan, spreading it in an even layer- I usually use a sheet of waxed paper to make things less messy. DOn't leave any of the waxed paper in the dough! Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges brown.
Let it sit for 2 minutes, then pour the remaining 8 ounces of milk chocolate chips on top, and spread after they've melted.

Ooh, will try soon

This recipe was written when chocolate chips came in 8 oz. bags. The bags now, on average are 11.5 ounces. So you do have to measure the chips! And you may not need 8 ounces for the topping.
