the way petsmart has been handling this is insane. It's shitty but I think my store manager plays favorites with the petcare people and that's why I'm barely on there lol

Oh I hate that, but I see it at my work too.
We are very short staffed as it is at our store (there were only three of us in Wednesday from like, noon to close lmao) but myself and one other person has been there the longest and I think that's also why we're getting the hours too.
I have been talking to my store leader about it every shift and he has been fighting for hours. I'm fortunate to have good managers at my store.

I'm glad you have good managers! I think the good ones at my store don't get heard as much unfortunately. But thank you fo what you do and thank you for commenting and I hope you stay safe!! hopefully companies can learn to deal with this better in the future
