Oculus Quest? Anyone else have one?

General
Sometimes feels like I'm the only one who has one. I also have a Rift and a WMR (HP Windows Mixed Reality). The college I was in was really big on VR. (Don't know why since only in the last year did they even mention anything about VR's programming in's and out's. And even then without any programming background...) Well, let's just say the last semester sucked. I had to review and figure out VR in a limited amount of time without any real help... Coronavirus and campuses being closed...
So, I learned a lot about VR and physics... Holy hell... Did I learn a lot about Unity physics... Ever see a door just blow up by touching a door handle? LMAO! I have.
So, does anyone else have a VR headset? I'm actually wondering now... How many people have them or if my professor's guestimates were wrong...
(Challenge everything...)

Finally, another Rift user. I'm Imago3D there. (I thought no one used it anymore because of the Quest, and the Go. ) :D
So, do you use your rigs for games or are you also a fellow programmer? :D
Same here, but I'm incredibly shy so VR chatting probably wouldn't be for me. I love playing BAIT! right now. It's a freemium game on the quest. I just like quiet time. Trying to find a good work out game... Haven't found one yet that doesn't want me to sign up for a subscription.
Oculus quest looks really fun though. Some of the Free games look great. I can't wait to to try it! ^o^
( though my only concern is since VR has been out for quite a while now I am worried that by the time I finally buy one it's going to be Obsolete and the new one is going to come out and I will have to buy the new hardware if I want to try any of that future games )
But look into the WMR (Windows Mixed Reality) it's waaaaay cheaper and it still is very fun if your computer can handle it. I play steam VR games on mine that doesn't need a lot of tracking... (I bought my HP mixed reality system for 231... Looks like people are jacking up the price...) My advice... Wait until all this virus crap is done before investing in it. It'll still be here for you. :D
However the only VR headset I'm planning on investing in is the Oculus Quest because of its Simplicity and so far from what I've seen it's the only VR headset that doesn't require a PC / laptop of any kind and doesn't rely on having to set up anything else alongside it.
The main reason why I never got into VR in the beginning was because all of the additional setup requirements or just so confusing and overwhelming for me. The Oculus Quest from what I can how is the only model so far where all you need is the device itself. That was the green light for me to start getting into VR.
My room is a pretty decent size upstairs and I'm already working on rearrangements for more space so I'll be able to play VR comfortably once the time finally comes.
And once again best of luck with your game! Also, I recently thought about a few new names for it. But I'm not sure if they are very good. >~<
1.) Primal triumph.
2.) Clash of the beast.
3.) Bloodlines roar.
4.) Climax of savagery.
5.) Evolution's calling.
6.) Wrathful wild.
The great thing about the quest is you can tell it how big your play area is and then it will take you out of the game and show your room if you step out of bounds. (Bad thing is... If you have low ceilings like me... It doesn't show you how close you are to smashing your controller into the ceiling.)
So far here are the games that interest me:
Rec room, VR Tennis, and some sort of futuristic sci-fi space pirate type of game that I can't remember the name of it the moment.
Of course VR chat looks really fun as well and I think there was this one game where it was basically like a giant arcade where you could run around and play different mini games! ^o^
I plan to save up for the 128 GB version because I think you can never go wrong with extra storage space.
But that's cool. XD I'm 5'5" and I can touch the ceiling with my hands. >.< Really low 6' ceilings.
As for your ceiling that sounds really rough sorry to hear that. This might be a very goofy question but, are players able to use VR sitting down?
That does sound pretty cute and I might check it out sometime once I get an Oculus Quest.
Even though I'm really excited I'm sort of intimidated about jumping into a new platform I just got into Xbox about a year-and-a-half ago and it was very intimidating that first just how different everything was from Nintendo and PlayStation.
Yet now here I go into a whole new platform that's not even a conventional console! eep! 0.0
