That’s definitely another for me! Though mine was just sonic adventure 2, I never got to play the GameCube version until later.
I love that game!! Finding all the cool secret chao areas was really exciting as a kid

Sonic Adventure 2 I think is what it's called really. I just got into the habit of adding Battle to the end of it lol.

I keep saying we need Chao stuff to come back. To this day it's so relaxing and enjoyable nurturing a little cute creature.

Turtles in Time will always be a favorite of mine, because it's fast paced and fun.

Sorta playing into this, I recently got the Trials of Mana remake - I played the fan translated rom a lot in the early 2000's and since I loved the predecessor Secret of Mana. The remake is surprisingly faithful to the original and does not try to be a modern game as many of the current remakes are.

I also tend to play some of the older Mega Man games (2 and 3 in particular) as well as the first Mega Man X every now and then. Still such great games. :D

There’s a barcade (bar-arcade!) I go to (or, used fo before quarantine!) that has turtles in time set up and it’s SOOO HARD LOL but it’s really fun!! I noticed like, yellow xenonorphs in the sewer level?? 😂

They were actually in the 80s cartoon for one episode or so. I think they were called "Pizza Monsters" or something like that, because their eggs got put on pizza and they hatched super quick after delivery.
And yeah, they were most definitely heavily inspired by the Alien franchise.

I go back to Ocarina of Time quite a bit, did so recently actually and actually got a bit emotional when i got to the credits. Was the first game i ever beat and during this quarantine, i needed something to refresh my spirits

Well, I recently streamed No More Heroes on my Twitch, and had fun revisiting it with an audience. Played Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door a while back and loved the battle system, it's a bit more wordy than I remember though.

And hey, as long as I have that ps2, I will always be ready to boot it up and play God Hand.

Oh, and almost any Nintendo 64 game. Some good gems there. Mario 64 was pretty much my real first game.

I just looked up god hand, it looks so cool! Those are some solid choices.

If you got a ps3, you can download it there, and if you got a ps2 it shouldn't be too expensive on eBay and similar sites.

X-com UFO Defense / Terror From the Deep

The longer time passes the more I realize just how good these games were. Most times I play old games I'm reminded how much better things have become. But these games hit a level of complexity (and relative polish) that is still good to this day. And the reboots take away some of the core things that made the games feel the way they do so I just feel like there's no game like them that's better...

Yeah I’m a bit torn on remakes. On one hand they make classic titles accessible again (games from old consoles people don’t usually have anymore, hard to find originals, etc) and there’s some that are really well done and super faithful (RE1 remake, halo 2 & Spyro Reignited come to mind) but on the other there’s a lot of ones that just mess up the mechanics or lose the charm that made them so special. Remasters are nice because they usually just up-res textures and fix minor things.

Link to the Past is one I revisit pretty regularly -- usually at least once a year on a vanilla playthrough, but often using a randomizer to swap things up. If you played and enjoyed it, I highly recommend giving the randomizer a shake! It's a really neat spin on a great title. ♥

It's a romhack of the original title that changes up all the item locations in the game using a logic system that prevents any given seed from being unclearable. You might have the Master Sword and 8 hearts before you take Zelda to the Sanctuary; you might have to clear several bosses with nothing but a magic hammer and a few bottles to speak of!

I havnt played any in a long time, but the last old game I played was out on Gamecube back in the day, called Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. It was a hidden gem. Turned into a sort of cult classic.

Mainly the various Humongous Entertainment point-and-clicks, though I've also wanted to try emulating the N64 games I plated (namely GoldenEye 007, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, LEGO Racing, Sarge's Heroes 2, Air Combat, and Rogue Squadron), and I do want to buy both SimCity 3000 and 4 off of GOG sometime. I did also play OpenRA, which is an open-source port of C&C Red Alert though I haven't touched it in a few years now.

Wish there was a decent way to run Zoo Tycoon 1 & 2 on Windows 10... and that I can play Jet Set Radio Future on newer platforms.

sly cooper band of thieves was my go to. sadly, my ps2 doesnt work anymore and the disk is a little scratched so i cant play the last three chapters without cheat codes to skip :C

warzone can be downloaded for free now and is maintained by fans, the devs put it out in opensource. apparently its on steam too (still free)

Racing games made up a lot of my childhood so they revitalize a lot of good memories but while I might have had more PS2 games than Gamecube games, My gamecube has the highest concentration of favorites of any console I could just say when I turn on my Gamecube I know I'm always going to have a good nostalgia trip.

Diablo II has always been I’ve gone back to once in a while, and recent tried it with the Median XL mod/server and was quite fun.

All versions of Counter-Strike, depending on my mood, are fun to go back to. That was the definition of FPS for me.

Every year or two I find myself replaying a majority of the Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid series. Something about those two that make it a massive nostalgic undertaking to replay through them in order.

i'm sure there's more that i can think of (and i don't think the soulsborne games count as 'nostalgic games' yet lmao) but im certain i can think of a few games i enjoy later on that i would love to revisit 😊

Well, Age of Empires II will always be that really good game that I'm nostalgic for. There are other childhood games that I've played and are filled with nostalgia, these being Bionicle: The Game and Nanosaur, but they're both... actually trash games. XD
I can barely remember the first game I ever played since I was 3 years old, it was on a kindergarten computer and it was a... windows 95 I believe. But the first memorable game I've played has to be Nanosaur, which I played when I was 5/6 years old way back in 1998 and 1999.

Torchlight and Rogue Legacy are two games I've reinstalled recently. I never played the original Doom, so I have that a go recently too. Childhood nostalgia for me though would probably be Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Backyard Baseball.

Animal Crossing Wild World u.u I freaking love Animal Crossing New Horizons to death, but Wild World was where I really got my start. Lot more personality with the villagers and the music was just- amazing.

Well from Snes my go to game is either Top Gear or Super Metroid, for PS1 game would be Gran Turismo 2 or Metal Gear Solid and for PS2 is Need for Speed Undercover or Ace Combat Zero

Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction (With PlugY mod). This was my first game and with the PlugY Mod it brings a ton of quality of Life changes that make it more enjoyable in these new ages.

Old School RuneScape, the ressurection of my first MMO. I loved RuneScape 2 which was back in 2007 ish era. Old School RuneScape is just more of the same and I love it. There is an interesting video by J1mmy called: "Why People Still Play Runescape in 2020" it's an interesting, though rambly, look into why people (like me) still play RuneScape.

Dwarf Fortress, by far the most complex and interesting game I've played. This game just makes memory and memory, story after story, all because of the crazy shit that can happen.

Monster Hunter series. I love grinding, if you couldn't tell that by RuneScape being on my list. Monster Hunter is literally just a game about grinding bosses, and that just scratches some itch I get. I may take long breaks but I always keep coming around.

Yess, AoE II is great. I actually gasped when I played it again.

The most nostalgic game for me is Mischief Makers. There is so much odd charm to it; the ost is unforgettable. Unfortunately there will probably never be another game as it was owned by Enix.

Yes!! TF2 was such a great part of my high school years, i made some many friends on it as well :) and same with Spyro haha I loved that series especially the third.
