I had gotten the hang of it but it's still not my favorite. Same as you, I still post there and I refuse to leave. The forced change was really uncalled for and that's the best word I use to describe most things in life.

Yeah agreed. I'm not going to stop going there. I even like a couple of features. But on the whole it's all kinds of screwed up.

DA forced the change too early, Eclipse looks unfinished because groups still have the old layout as you can see e.g. here: https://www.deviantart.com/mature-pokegirls/

Yeah, I knew it all along myself. But, at least there are no ads.

I just wish DA could've taken the features of Eclipse, and applied them to the old layout. Heck, even the groups still use the old DA layout. And, the Notes, while more streamlined, still function the same way as they did before.

But, I'm still there, and moving on with my big project, but I just wish it never happened. >: (

I will add my tiny voice to the growing chorus that's critical of DA's Eclipse. I agree with everything that's been said here, including that there is no real reason for Eclipse to exist. Like everyone has already said, I will continue to post on DA, but I feel like some damage has been done, and that Shinra is correct: DA will go down the drain like Tumblr. If there could be a Journal focused on alternatives to DA, I'm interested. ^•^

P.S.: If DA were to reverse course and sh*t-can Ecliipse, I think users would applaud and all would be forgiven. (That's just my impression.)

I'm giving it a chance, but glad I didn't sign up for Core membership at least.

I suspect actually it was necessary and in 1 aspect it was very much successful.
The streamline was more to make the site universally compatible, especially for mobile devices.

Man, you ain’t kidding. I’m still trying to get used to this. I’ve been on there for four years and for them to change up things like that, and ignore the vast amount of objections of their clients is just awful in so many ways. I’m pretty sure Wix was the one that made this decision, but still, Eclipse is just a bad, awful, terrible idea in a plethora of ways.

They tried to create something new and innovative.
Instead it turned tons of people off.

I went through the whole thing with tumblr on there, and tumblr lost a lot of money cause of them getting rid of lewd stuff. If DA continues down this path, then people will get really really frustrated with the platform and will say. “Screw this!” And I hate to admit it, but DA eclipse and the company will inevitably lose a lot more then money. Whole community’s will be forced to migrate and or start a new art website, so when it’s all said and done DA will never recover and thank heavens I left. Still gotta upload some stuff, but will do so when I feel like it, but bright side furaffinity is a good back up.

I think Furaffinity has increased in members and views ever since DA went Eclipse. So you were right to make this your new home.

You're damn straight it sucks! The overall look is ugly and bland. It crashes more times than I do in Mario Kart. The pages have lost a bit of their flavor. You can't see more like the piece you select. It just wasn't well thought out.
