sorta, its a step at least, i wont be happy until the Cult of Social Distancing is broken up and the purely symbolic, oxygen inhibiting Tyranny Masks go away
Illinois and New York honestly were the two worst places to be in terms of coronasteria. i had to go to Ohio last week to repair a plane that had broken down there back in February (and subsequently got stuck there once corona happened and the flight school went into limbo) and i was legitimately shocked how relaxed their policies were. was nice spending a week there, was sad when we had to go back XDXD was joking with my boss that we should tell base that the repair was gonna take longer than we expected, might have to stay for another week >:3
i still cant believe being critical of the coronavirus response became a partisan issue, thats what still blows my mind about all of this. since so many demographics were affected negatively by the knee-jerk (and unconstitutional) responses, i was SURE large swaths of people, both liberal and conservative, would have been against the shutdowns and all of that. man was i wrong! like everything else in the 21st century, people gotta politicize and make it as divisive and black/white as possible. i would have 100% stood with the liberals had they been the political ideology to oppose the lockdowns, but overall they werent, so yeah, once again the view that makes the most logical sense to me has been deemed the "wrong" one and therefore i should go get corona and die
...except that corona is a rather mild disease (in comparison to other pandemics in the past, that killed with a much greater certainty) with a very high recovery rate, even among 65+ers. is it still deadly? yes. is it as bad as the media claims it is? fuck no. the whole world allowed themselves to panic over the big scary *shadow* of something relatively small and non-threatening, and continues to spread fear and sensationalism over various "what-ifs" that are unlikely to occur. in the mean time, what kinds of laws are being passed while we're all distracted? what kind of world are we going to wake up to once the media and the cultists grow tired of covid-19?
yeah...tl;dr XD basically, the real covid-19 crisis will be the long term ramifications of the world's HORRIBLE response to it...not the virus itself (and if that makes me a conspiracy theorist, whatever...time will show whether im right or wrong on that one)
