Be Safe Everyone
To anyone living in America and more over American cities, be safe out there. If you feel it's to dangerous to go to work then don't go. If you do have to go or be some where, travel with some one. Lock your doors and arm yourself whether it be a firearm or even a blunt object. Even have an escape plan as the cops may be too busy to help you. To those who are not in danger, please condemn these riots. No if ands or buts.
I understand this was started because a cop was extremely reckless and because of it a man lost his life. That cop is fired, arrested, and charged for his actions. I understand people wish for a reform in police training and i support those who originally peacefully protest. The people looting, hurting, and killing (yes killing) do not care for this. They do not care about floyds death or its cause. They do not care about reforming the police. And they certainly don't care about you. I laugh at those who smiled and cheered when the poorest among us had their property and lives destroyed all so they can feel like they are some how part of this movement, only to get mad when the barbarians came for their home in Rome. They are mass hypocrites who only cheer for when others suffer.
Support your neighbors. Look out for each other. You have the ability to defend yourself if you choose to do so. Be safe everyone.

i don't think destroying stores or set things on fire will help
:3 Next I'm sure you're going to shotgun unvetted links, tell me to educate myself, how dare oneself to be anti-violence and then you're going to virtue signal for the white race I'm sure~
All we need next is everyone around to stand up and clap.
You can't claim someone is taking some moral high ground and then follow that up with yourself trying to take moral high ground whilst sitting behind a keyboard as well. What are you doing to solve these issues despite sitting on your computer, talking shit?
To be honest, you wouldn't know what actual fascism is if it came along and bit you in the ass. The fact that you can vote (at all) and that you have yet to receive a bullet to the head for speaking the way you do about your government and for liking the things you do is a testament to that. That fact that you said the government is Fascist and then accused him of voting for Trump is pretty much self contradictory.
Things are not solved by smashing the windows of innocent shop owners, beating people in the street and rolling cars over. People are free to protest, not hurt other people or their property.
Also, try not to judge people based on a single journal entry, somehow you got that he voted for Trump from this entry? Get real. Besides, people who just vote the way you don't aren't automatically the "bad guys" because guess what? That's fascist thinking right there "he/she voted wrong therefore he/she is wrong, has no argument and is the enemy"
Also, America does not a have a monopoly on on whatever it stands for or whatever issues it has, it didn't even invent democracy for Christ sake.
Came on here expecting much of the same, considering the furry community tends to mirror Twitter's political compass, for better or for worse.
Tickle me surprised to see this gem of a post. Kudos to you for this, and I second the message. As my provincial capital of Vancouver has shown, safe and peaceful protest IS possible, and gets the message through just the same. People are even self quarantining after the fact. So much needs to change down south, but burning or smashing the businesses or personal property of honest working people is not on that list. A lot of horror stories coming out because of this.
Be safe man and keep your head on a swivel.
It's tragic, really, because it's a fact that people on both sides were cheering for that cop to get arrested; everything fell apart when people started drawing lines on social media. It's a bit depressing when some of your long-time friends are basically sending you threats because you don't support the rioters.
What were the Riots saying that needed to be heard again? The officer involved was convicted, there was sweeping police and social reform, there was massive news coverage 24/7 for multiple years straight, not even just in the U.S. but LITERALLY GLOBALLY. Did you seriously bring up the "Riots are the language of the unheard" without actually thinking about what was going on at the time this journal was written? In your mind, WHAT exactly did the Rioters need everyone to hear? And before you cry about the state of the black, marginalized communities, maybe take a second to think how well they fared after nearly two years of destruction? Oh wait, you can go look it up, they're absolutely destroyed and literally millions of lives were ruined.
Way to profoundly misunderstand MLK though, seriously, it takes skill to be that ignorant, to completely forgot that "Riots are the language of the unheard" was proceeded by multiple paragraphs explaining why Riots are at best, counterproductive, and at worst, actively detrimental towards the goals the rioters are "Fighting for."
But you look at you, Antifa Andy with his baseball bat ready to swing into the jaws of anyone you don't like, literally condoning violence because YOU agree with it. What're the odds that you were part of the Riots and this is your lame attempt of an excuse to try and justify the shitty things you participated in because you couldn't control your emotions I wonder? Seems pretty high considering from those opinion puff pieces you shared, for someone who acts so enlightened, it's ironic that you think Violence can be justified because "There's no other choice." A war and a riot are different you jackass. In a war, one or both sides are trying to kill and subjugate the other. The fact that you think random, wanton violence that mainly effected those the rioters claimed they were trying to help is baffling.
The Journal literally didn't even mention BLM once, and was EXCLUSIVELY about the violent riots that were going on, the fact that YOU identified them as BLM, despite the 3 years since this journal was posted, literally speaks more of YOUR views then the OP's. YOU are the one who believes the Rioters were BLM, and I'll double down and point out, not a single person has mentioned BLM here except for YOU. But go ahead, you support the group that you think are actual behind the riots, aka, committing acts of terror by proxy.
I'm also going to knowledge check that claim of MOSTLY PEACEFUL. 99% of all protests globally are peaceful, but 93% of the BLM riots were violent. That's a 7% shift over millions of examples. You also failed to understand your own citation, because you didn't realize they considered the multiple 500+ day long riots (Yes, MULTIPLE riots went on for more then a year without a single day of peace) as a single event each, and they were also not considered violent riots if police or EVEN CIVILIANS were attacked, only if "Significant property damage" was incurred. But go ahead, you can be the living personification of the video of an entire city block on fire while the news anchor has to scream over the rioters that it's mostly peaceful.
The ultimate point of all this is you're an absolutely disgusting piece of trash, you are literally sub-human. The fact that you think you can throw up some pithy numbers and quotes to defend rioters whom destroyed not only cities, but took more innocent lives then you think they had been fighting to avenge is appalling. You should take a long hard look at where your life went to genuinely believe killing MORE innocent people is the proper response to killing anyone.
