Twitter is overrun with politics

Basically that's it in a nutshell, but I think they also want a fresh start. By charging people to get in, they weed out pesky things like porn bots and trolls. Clean slate, hard to get it dirty. I might join in as well.

I never really cared for Tumblr. I thought that they re-allowed porn... Although, I think I have a Tumblr but I never use it. I just never saw the allure of it. Twitter... You're not kidding... It's just politics minded people who are just there to scream about anything and everything. I just came back here and a lot of popular artists are going there... I thought that something happened here. Same with Weasyl, though... And that other site that opened not too long ago... Not many people on it. T.T

Weasyl and Furrynetwork, and all those other FA alternatives were trying to reach one market only. Furries. Pillowfort meanwhile also tries to get non-furries as well. FA is here to stay, as is Twitter, unsure about Tumblr though (never cared). I think Pillowfort has a shot, but I wouldn't count on them becoming a world beater.

I decided to join... No customization, hard to use search function... I couldn't find anyone unless I decided to write their name into my own address bar. It's a mess... They seem more prideful that they don't have capitalist investors... But their donation begging is just as bad. XD Although, I don't see myself posting anything over there until they fix a whole slew of not working crap. XD

I found they have customization in the way... You can change the background color on the main part of the page... Then it has a huge sidebar on the left. You can put little images in it for links to stuff, but then when I visit a community or anything... It doesn't keep my customizations, it defaults to the ugly purple and white. >.<

Yeh, dunno much about pillowfort but the feel I have is that's more of a reaction to twitter being shite as a gallery plus full of self-righteous moral crusaders that arrived from tumblr, more so than anything FA reiated.

Twitter is good in a "fire and forget" way, to fire off quick snippets without any intention of permanence, but as a repository of media, it sucks balls.

Tumblr and Twitter are both crap... Really, they're not all that great. I don't post to either most of the time since I don't know or care what's allowed. Tumblr is full of itself, and Twitter is the mouthpiece of every political shitstorm... Hate both sites for that...

Pillowfort, though... Has nothing I seen to be able to make my profile stand out... No customization for pages (like Tumblr does)... No dark mode (like Twitter)... I couldn't search for crap. >.< It's been in beta forever and I think it'll stay that way.

Community aside (and make no mistake, in a social platform it's the community that makes the place), at least Tumblr was objectively better than Twitter in terms of both being a media repository and user page customisation. I haven't even glanced at pillowfort and am only aware of it by the tweets of folks sayin' they're making an account there, which then followed a bunch of folks here sayin' the same. Dunno what prompted the stampede and TBH unless something weird happens (like it did with Tumblr) I'll pass, I'm running enough galleries as it is.

On happier notes, one of the books I ordered arrived a couple o'hours ago, plus I've finished rendering the characters and I'm halfway through rendering the background! ( º3º)/

Yeah, I usually forget I have a twitter, but quite a few artists I watch keep on saying they're leaving for pillow fort. It makes me sad, but I don't really know how to work the site over there. XD And I'm with you. I have a lot of galleries and most of them don't get any love or updates from me. Half the time I'm just trying to keep up... The other half of the time I'm just trying to get things done. XD But I guess they must feel like they can't express themselves... Or maybe something a bit more sinister... Like free invites or something. XD Although, I found it's not a furry site so I'm like... Meh... Probably better to just put up a couple of things and then leave it be.

On a side note got fed up with my mouse today. Dunno if it's an issue with it or some weird interaction with my mousepad. Ended up ordering a new mouse and a mousepad. I was having trouble moving the cursor at times.

I need to read the furry Harry Potter. I have just been all caught up with work and stuff. But yeah, mice are just a pain in the butt sometimes. Oh, is "The Girl from the other Side" any good? The girl from the other side is fantastic yeah, it's a victorian fairy tale of sorts about the relationship between Shiva, the little girl, and the Professor, the black creature. It's both cute, endearing, funny and horrifying. It's from the same mangaka that did the furry harry potter, he's very good at writing character dynamics.

About that last chapter, that's... a very Legoshi thing to do 😂😂😂

I mean.. the whole concept is him trying to understand other people, he's fascinated by them to the point of (by his own admission) being a fetish, plus it's not the first time we see him dressed like that. And the fox is correct in that she's a bad matchup for him given how much he glorifies ladies (Aoba himself said as much to Legoshi). He fights yeah, but only when he must and always trying to see from other folks points of view and to get to know them. Yes it was unexpected, but also very much on brand as far as Legoshi goes.

On a side note, I half expect Pina to show up out of nowhere and go "Hold up, this is MY fight" 🤣🤣🤣

Oh, I love the little vixens. I wasn't expecting the main fight to happen so quickly, though. It makes me a little sad, because she keeps saying the end of the series is getting closer. I am a little annoyed because I think I know what's going to happen already. (His genes kicking in and growing back his ear and stuff... All DBZ Piccolo style.) Although, if he gets venom like his grandfather... It's going to really suck. I'm like... How in the hell is he ever going to be able to kiss again if he has that?! But hopefully, I'm wrong and he doesn't get venom in order to kill Melon. (Do you think the kimono dragons from the fight are related to him... Because she did have his granddad mention that families can take each other's venom...) But I say his ear and everything will grow back because if she was telling the truth about it being an older Lego in Beast Complex... He has both his ears and everything. (Or they can reattach it like they can reattach arms...) But then... Why can't they reattach the tailpieces?! But if Paru is serious about the series coming to a close... I hope she wraps up all the loose ends. Because I have so many questions that aren't answered yet... Like how did Lego fit into Haru's dad's car? (Joke question, but funny to me.) I hope if she does wrap up this series that she goes back to Beast Complex and writes more of them! Those were really fun and interesting to read! Plus she could make 1 off stories about anyone in the whole thing. (My favorite Beastars issue is still where Bill found the baby in his breakfast. XD It was endearing.) But OMG yes! I want her to bring back Pina. I've been dying to see him again! I just know he's got the entire school wrapped around his finger. I also want to know what happened to the Drama club. Oh, gosh... There's so much!!

Yeh I really don't see how can she wrap up everything in such a short time. I'd thought about the venom as well, maybe the lizard realised that as well and that's what made the komodo side with him, even if Legoshi hasn't thought about it. I'm hoping for the regen as well, I don't want a mangled Legoshi! ( T3T) º

And dang, Melon got buff!! Also all that drama about chimeras and Kyuu and.. nothing as of yet? Like as much as I like big titty irate bunny GF, she's kinda a bitch. If Legoshi is inexperienced, she's freaking repressed, but at least Legoshi is honest to himself about it and doesn't take it out on others.

Bah, I could do without this fight. Paru is good with fight scenes and all but I don't like them as arc focuses. I'd very much prefer slice of life stuff. I want to see more Legoshi and Haru as well as Louis and Juno dating! Also Coulot and the sheep neighbour lass of Legoshis, those two should be cute together!

Go for it. It's hard to navigate and you can't even mess with your page or profile. Everyone has the exact same look. They can't seem to make up their minds if they want to be Tumblr or Twitter... Probably won't be moving there or even posting when the TOS can't make up its mind if I'm allowed to post titties or not. XD

Yeah, I wouldn't go over there... I probably won't be posting since their TOS seems contradictory. You can and can't post NSFW stuff there... Plus not being able to edit my profile or anything about my page... I didn't like Tumblr... I really don't like this. XD

I'm seeing several 'FA sucks' posts, but if it was so bad they don't use it then they wouldn't have been watching it to see and notice your post to make a comment. (About like how bad Amazon is supposed to be to work for or buy/sell on yet they still seem to use it ...)

Nothing will ever be perfect in all ways for all people, but for now (at least for me) FA's better than the other options.

I like FA. It's layout is a bit like old DA. (I still use the old theme.) But I like it because the community is bigger and there are more people here... :D That makes it good for me. If it went down... I suppose I might post a bit on other sites, or maybe just go to discord... Or work on some personal stuff. :D

I don't think Pillowfort is it, though. I think it might just be the new shiny thing with a cool name. Because over there it barely functions. You can't edit anything to make it look better or different... (Not that I've found.) I haven't gotten a reply from support yet... Not that I expect to.

But I think there might be better alternatives... Just yet to find a good one.

I hope so because right now it's seriously lacking any real functionality. It's been in beta for at least over a year. (I have an old email telling me that they'd send an email when it was out of beta... A month later I got an email saying for $5 they'd let me in...) A year later... Same thing. The front page looks like Tumblr, but when you log in... It looks like crap. XD

This site is a dumpster fire and has been for a long time. It's why I wiped my galleries here and exclusively post to IB. Also, no one I know uses FA without an ad blocker, and I use that and a script blocker.

I haven't had problems with anyone except a couple of times... Other than that... Things are usually pretty relaxed. I have an IB... But I never use it... It's because of the reputation IB has with some stuff. >.< I think I only got a few watchers on there, though. T.T

It's not so much the people I'm referring to, but the site itself. Also, IB has a reputation because people allow it to. You can block whatever content you don't wish to see based on keywords or even artists whose art you don't want to see. Not everyone on IB posts that kind of stuff.

Yeah, the site is only good because so many people are here. I'm still using the classic theme... So, I don't know how it looks now. XD But yeah, I block all cub and scat stuff in my keyword blocking on IB. But it did get the rep for cub stuff when FA took cub stuff down... Lots of cubby artists went to IB because their claim to fame was we accept artwork like that... >.< But I'm there... I just forget I have a login... And without a good gallery transfer utility. (The old one quit working for me...) I can't make a move... But I wouldn't move there. Smaller community... Same for SoFurry which I like as well, but super small community.

FA has been trash for a long time. Wayyyy too easy to DDOS, code is from like 2003 (and even then it's bad by 2003 standards lul) and nobody has bothered to improve it.

That's true... But Pillowfort lacks so many features... Nothing like Tumblr... (People had told me it's the new Tumblr but it lacks almost all features and the search is horrific.) I've been a web designer/programmer (Php, java, mysql... You name it)... I know FA is trying to patch their old code instead of just make an all new site... But Pillowfort... It looks like someone discovered Buddypress for WordPress and decided to make a website out of it... >.< (Or Dolphin... Or one of those other multiuser all in one webscripts...) I might post there if they ever respond to my request... But for right now... This is the better site... Functional... (For the most part...) And more well known than the others. (Although, pillowfort isn't a furry site anyway... XD )

Me too. I went there and got a code (bought it) and the entire site lacks everything. It's hard to search for things. The layout blows. You can't really customize your profile... It's just the latest shiny thing that people are harping on about since it's really a walled garden.

I think you got it right the first time. It's a shiny new thing to try out. I was kind of hoping Furry Network would take off, personally, but I'm not so sure it ever did.

It is. I got one to protect my name. Since people are trying to make it theirs. So, I snapped it up. Otherwise... The site is completely lacking in everything.

Yeah. When I finally went there and started looking around. It is seriously lacking every feature you can think of. Unlike Tumblr... You can't really customize your page. There's nothing there at the moment that makes me want to post my art there.

I think it's just because it's new. If an artist here can't be found and watched there... What is the point of going... They're not going to grow a fan base if only people they give their link to can see them. SMH... It's just bad.
