Hey everyone! 

We made it! And here we are with our twenty seven contestants for the Further Hypnosis 2020 Art Contest, Fun Fiction! 

Please feel free to root for your favorites and discuss the pieces in the comments below, just remember, be respectful and we ask that we limit negativity towards our artists as they all put themselves out here and we really want to encourage and thank every last one of them for participating.

I used to watch that show "Talespin" when I was a kid with like, Baloo and misc. other characters from the Jungle Book, and what I remember most from it is honestly Shere Khan's ridiculously modern and over the top evil-themed office (there's literally a bunch of carnivorous venus fly trap plants in it for no reason, lol) and I always wished there was more art with that setting, so this is what I came up with! Obviously it includes Kaa and Shere Khan, and the other characters are Rebecca from the show, and then I just like to insert myself into things, so.... :PI also always wished that Kaa + his hypnosis made more appearances in the show itself, because I don't really remember him being around much, and thought this would be a fun idea to incorporate for the hypno contest. :)

Paxton

Phantom of the Opera / Beastars

There are two sources of inspiration for this piece. The first, and the source of the hypnotic context, is the Phantom of the Opera, which was made into a movie plenty of times, though it's often known better as a stage musical. Often throughout the plot, Christine, a chorus girl for an opera company, is shown as being somewhat entranced by the Phantom, and it always made me wonder what would happen if he was more direct with that ability. The scene that's depicted is an "alternate ending," where the Phantom has taken over Christine's mind a little more directly than he does earlier in the show, leaving Raoul, her potential savior, helplessly trapped. 

The second source of inspiration was Beastars, just because I figured that if anyone in the furry world would put on a stage production and then have it go in a completely unplanned and chaotic direction, it'd be the Cherryton Drama Club. So, Christine is played by Juno, Raoul is Louis, and Phantom is yours truly.”

Since the piece is based off a kinda surreal animation/comic series, essentially what's going on is there is a device called the "whim grinder" which bends minds and reality to the users will. There is also lore about how the main villain steals brains to turn hapless creatures into zombies (which come in the form of colorful slug like objects) which I included as well. It's not as straightforward as a pocket watch or hypno glasses but I liked the trippy nature of it since it was unique.”

Remember that scene in Scooby Doo! Where Are You? where the ghost clown hypnotizes Daphne into dressing in a cute dancer outfit and performing? That's probably the scene that single-handedly got me into hypnosis as a fetish, and I decided to pay a bit of an homage to that scene in this contest (though this one is a lot more R-Rated than the original scene~!). And, of course, I had to toss Icy under the bus for this one! But just look at how much fun he's having~! 

The scene is based off of a moment where Daphne gets hypnotized by a clown to ride a unicycle. The artist has taken this and drawn it their way with their own character, showing how their OC would be in that position.

Very obscure TV show I took as the inspiration for this. Maybe because only Brits of a certain age will remember The Demon Headmaster.

The scene I'm recreating is around 16 minutes 28 seconds in and instead, I recreated this scene with my OC Lily and an eldritch horror.

I always adored the concept of hypnotic music and one of my Villain Characters Sarkisill the Chatot is my main producer of such wicked beats to manipulate the Dark, Poison and Ghost types to do his bidding.

This young Khajiit mage seems to have found herself quite an entrancing book. Black Books, relics of the daedric prince (basically a god) Hermaeus Mora can be found in the game Skyrim, specifically the Dragonborn DLC. Hermaeus Mora is known to entrap mortals, promising them knowledge only for them to fall trap his tentacles, and reading the Black Book transports you to his realm. I chose this in particular because in this scene Hermaeus Mora always seems to do more than just pull the player into the book and into his real with tentacles, he is the Daedric Prince of knowledge, he tricks and trap your mind, taking control when you don’t even realize what he’s doing before it’s too late.
