Nah, I wasn't going to do any paid ads or turn to Facebook for anything. I usually forget I have one. I was wondering if there were secret groups or anything where people posted furry art. XD Definitely, not going to hang out on Facebook. I get assaulted by inline ads and crap when I'm there. It's a real shit show most of the time. And BAH my friends have wasted so much money trying to sell crap through Facebook (not art, but services) I know it's not worth it to buy ads there!

Well, I only recently got one of those things too, so even if I hardly use it either, I still sent you a friend request on there Might as well, right? >^_^<

Hurray! :D Yeah, I was never too keen on using Facebook before. I had myspace at one point and then got a Facebook a while back, but just like Twitter. XD I hardly use it. :D This is my place for social media!

Yes, I so know what you mean, I don't do the social media stuff either But since my girlfriend and me have had some problems lately with me getting authorization to travel to the US to visit her, she convinced me to get a facebook page so we could be friends and partners on there and have more proof of us being real people and being in a relationship and all that stuff that those weirdoes need to allow me past the border for a visit >¬_^<

That is a great idea. Have you two tried Zoom? I mean it was great when my son was using it for school. It let all the kids see and talk to each other for a little while. (With all the social distancing stuff.) Have you tried for a work visa or something similar or has it always just been to visit? I really find it stupid that they denied you. I wish our government would get its act together in terms of visas and vacationing visas and such. I mean bah... Governments are bad no matter who runs it. (I'm not political, but I find denying visas to those who have gotten them before is stupid... There should be a permanent visa allowing people to visit when they're just here to visit!) I'd say visit Canada and then come down through the Canadian border... (She's still in NY, right?) XD But that might make it worse... Although, visiting and vacationing in Canada is usually a piece of cake. (I've been there before and it's gorgeous for the most part.) :D

Yeah, it's really stupid, and we found out the hard way it's exactly like how a friend of hers told us; they'll be doing pretty much everything they can to keep you out. I never actually tried for a visa before, the Netherlands falls under the visa waiver program, which allows you to vacation for a maximum of 90 days. But last year I told her I would try for a tourist visa so I could stay for 6 months rather than 3, and that's where it all went south; they rejected my ESTA for the visa waiver program as well because I applied for that much too soon after the visa rejection. The plan was to try it again come august/september (so I could spend my birthday with her and all), but with all that virus craziness going around that's on the backburner now too. She can come here to me; she's been here for a week last year May when a planned vacation to England went a bit awry, hee. And when my ESTA got denied we threw our plans for me visiting her for Christmas around and had her coming here for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's instead, which worked out because I could use my mom's little house for us to stay in as my mom was visiting her uncle for most of December and half of January and I was house-sitting for her anyway. But yeah, with her work, she could only at the most come over for a week or two, and with the insanely high travel cost, that's not really worth it; if we're going to spend a thousand plus bucks for travel, we wanna make the most of it, so me coming over there for a month or three is much better value for money (not to mention that we can't always be so lucky as to have my mom's house available for us, hee).

We've considered the Canada route, but that would still restrict us too much because then she would have to come there as well and we'd have a much shorter time due to her vacation days, and the cost would be much higher since there'd be hotels involved and everything; if I'd go to Canada for a three month vacation, I'd still only be allowed in the US for a short time due to their dumb-ass rules =P We're working on solutions though!

Oh, and, we're both on Steam and we talk every day with the Steam chat and play games together, but we also did the facebook thing because she's been on there for years already and with the advice we got from her friend (who's from the UK and recently married his girlfriend who's from the US), we're trying to gather up as much solid evidence of our relationship as we can so we'll eventually have an easier time getting married and me moving there for good >^_^<

First... I'm like... OMG... Why would anyone want to move to the US for good. (But this is coming from someone who's lived here forever. I'd much rather live in Canada... Beautiful place...) Although, this state with it's mountains and such... Well, it feels less restrictive than other states. But ffs is it expensive! But I suppose you both have your reasons. Although, does the Netherlands offer dual citizenship. I know Japan makes you choose one or the other, but I know the US allows dual citizenship... Like Canadian and American... Is there something like that. (You don't want to throw away your citizenship, because America is awful at times.)

The sucks though... A whole house to yourselves and she couldn't come. Ugh... It would have been perfect I imagine. And travel costs were down for a while. (I'm kicking myself in the ass for not buying a ticket while prices were low... They were allowing people to buy in advance.)

Bah... I hadn't thought of hotel costs and such. Yeah, they probably would get wise to you coming across the border every day... T.T but really restricting people from the UK from traveling here... It's a mess we've got, but I hope it gets better. Although, I can see them looking at someone submitting paperwork too soon. Although, it might be a machine denying it... I'd say give them a call and see what the deal is... But then again... You don't want to get some hard-ass bureaucrat on the phone who's having a bad day. They'd probably deny you forever then. T.T

I hope it all gets straightened out soon and you'll be able to visit your girlfriend. It really sucks with all this virus stuff going around. T.T I wish all of it would go away... No one is sure if it'll ever go away. But your country wasn't one of the ones on the blacklist was it?

*chuckles* Oh trust me, I know. One of the first things I said when we started considering that option for the first time was, I'll gladly come over, but not so long as that dweeb is still in the leader's chair =P And of course, the Netherlands does have many pros (especially in social security stuff and such), but it has its cons as well; I can imagine someone who has lived in the US their whole life would have that reaction of 'why would you even want to live here?', but yeah, first and foremost we just want to be together and me going there is a much more viable option than the other way around, plus, like you mentioned, there's also other personal reasons involved. Have to say, I don't know about the dual citizenship, but that is definitely something I will be looking into as well.

*chuckles* And she was able to come over actually, we had the best Christmas and New Year's of our lives since we got to spend it together; it was indeed perfect, hee! As for the travel costs, yeah, they may be low sometimes, but we can't always take advantage of that with the situation we're in and the situation in the world currently.

Yeah, it's like her friend told us; I applied for a tourist visa and was denied, and not a month later I apply for ESTA; that's gonna raise a red flag. So his suggestion was to wait it out for a couple of months or three, to give it some time for that red flag to lower again. And with a virus suddenly crippling the entire world pretty much, that's only giving more time to wait and more chance for that red flag to disappear.

Blacklist though? I don't know about any blacklist; did/does the US have a blacklist of countries it's not allowing visitors from due to the virus thing? I could see China/Japan being on there since it pretty much originated there, but I don't think we'd be on there. Sure, we had a few thousand confirmed deaths and there's all kinds of regulations and restrictions in place, but it's really not too bad around here, really. Then again, I live in a pretty small town far enough away from any major cities to not hear about any crazy stuff going on in such more densely populated areas, hee!
