Hello everyone!
There comes a time every year when I start digging through old projects and listen to some of the stuff that I've done in the past.
Some ideas are pretty sweet, others not so good.
I've been wondering: Is there anything that in your own opinion has been especially important on your journey in terms of defining your style?
Personally I find, I've learned a lot about song structure and "flow" over the years.
My background is a little more on the progressive side and in my experience there is always a certain risk of being "too progressive", just for sake of being progressive.
But going through my projects I've definitely noticed a very positive trend there.
I think I've come a long way from simply mashing all my ideas together.
I've learned how to write music that is progressive in many ways, but not distracting with everything that's going - so that you can simply listen and enjoy, without having to think about what's going on.
Do you feel like that about any aspect of your own music?
Next let's check out some new releases.
This week's issue is bringing you 8 items, so let's check out...

Another factor related to this involved in mixing decisions, such as deciding whether certain instruments should be louder or quieter at different parts of the song. I started asking myself: What sound do I want to achieve with this part? Is there a particular instrument taking the spotlight? Is there supposed to be more space or do I want it to be more tense and chaotic/cluttered?
