I spent a little time this morning having good long think, I wanted to share that with you in hopes it might help you smile in these difficult times or at very least give you a little food for thought on something you might try or think further on.
As of late the majority of what I’ve seen and heard on social media and the media in general has had a heavy negative swing, deaths, injustices, hatred, anger and violence to name some of the common themes. Some of it very reasonable unrest and hopefully fuelling long overdue positive changes or calling for accountability for those in charge and power. Some of it however... well to say it saddens me is a mild understatement.
So with all this going around and filling our media recently I wanted to ask for a little bit of your time (around 10 minutes) and invite you watch a video. It is about gratitude and how it can be a powerful ally in fighting dissatisfaction and helping you have a more positive outlook and improving your mental wellness. It explains how it evolved, its studied effects and how through a few small actions we can encourage our wonderful minds to think more along this route helping us deal better with hardships and be happier.
Before you watch the video I wanted to practice what I am preaching and just say how grateful I am for each and every one of you. I am admittedly sometimes bad at showing this with how distant I can be, easily distracted and often busy so I don't engage socially as much as I should or would like to with you all. Please know how much I appreciate the incredible support and positivity you have all shown me over the years, each fun little message to reply to, every comment and shared thought or reaction. I have met some truly wonderful people from this community and my life is endlessly richer for it. Some of you I might only have interacted with a couple of times and only briefly, others I may have spent years with, and some I may not of seen for years but each and every one of you is important and has helped made my experience here that little bit better. I hope it doesn't sound disingenuous as I mean these words, thank you to each and every one of you, you are amazing wonderful and fantastic people and I am grateful for what we have shared and hopefully what we continue to share as the years go on.
It can be so easy to overlook and take for granted things we should be grateful for, especially in times such as these. So please take the time if you can to watch this video and maybe give it a go or at least have a little think. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being who you are. Here's a big socially distanced hug and nibble for all of you!

Thanks for sharing that, I agree that this is an excellent resource- it’s helped me through my depressive spells and has kept me from spiraling too hard- hopefully others get the same benefit we did now that you’ve shared this.
I already watched the video prior to seeing your journal. You chose incredibly well. Kurzgesagt is an excellent content provider on Youtube.
In fact, I practice some gratitude meditation today, and I feel ready to seize new opportunities.
Amidst all the doom and gloom, I hold a belief that things will get better, and I am glad that you are still on the scene for so many years.
Please take care of your well-being (notwithstanding the video already provided).
I also control my breathing during that time. Breathing seems to be key in managing emotions.
Also helps to think thoughts of gratitude. Your life cannot be 100% bad up to this point if you have at least lived for that long, can it?
In other words, you're probably more socially active then me by a long shot, considering your art and the time you take to reply to comments on said art/comics
