Focusing My Artistic Development

Hello and welcome to the Unicorn's Bookshelf.
Hello, world!
It has been...far too long since I've said anything here. My apologies. I DID finally finish posting my Vielthon story not so long ago. I hope that was enjoyable for you.
It is difficult for me to focus on my artistic endeavors. I work a full time job and am involved in a couple of social circles and spending time with my friends is very important to me. When I'm not busy with work or friends, I'm often trying to catch up on games I want to play or binge watching shows I want to catch up on. I admit, not the busiest schedule if I'm honest with myself, but it feels busy and with limited time left over in my week after work and necessary sleep, it's just hard to find time to write or draw. I suspect many of you feel the same way about your schedules.
I do, however, want to work on my writing and drawing more. I want to start being more consistent. I want to start developing my skills. On the other hand, I've also been overwhelming my own mind with the number of projects I want to work on and thus have successfully stalled my ability to work on any of them. I am tired of stalling myself. I am going to try to take some action.
So...I may very well be starting an online art course here in the next few days to begin really developing my skills. You've seen a sample of some of my work. It's not bad, but there's a long way to go before I'm at the level I want to be. Practice is what I need, but I intimidate myself whenever I look at a blank page, and if I don't pull up the right references...I stall out completely. (Note to self, finish the Jazmir project I'm working on before taking the class.)
For writing...I feel I'm actually a fairly good writer. There's always more to learn and more development to be had, of course, and I know I need more practice, but I'm much more comfortable with my writing skills. There's a lot of projects I could do for writing. For now, my intention is to start working on more short stories that I can post online. The problem here is that I have, as previously stated, a lot of projects vying for my attention. I may be jotting down a list and asking for your opinions in the near future. Be on the lookout for that!
For now, I wish you all the best of luck on whatever it is you're working on. Always do the best you can do and be the best person you can be.
