Very Sad News

Today kinda just sucked. I got a call from a friend of mine that sucked a lot of the wind out of things-
argentfang, a mutual friend of ours, had an aneurysm and died from complications back on May 4th. I will admit, I cried hard. Many of his friends had wondered why he hadn't checked in on Facebook or anything on a month, so a friend went to the farm he lived on and talked to Argent's father who was fairly tight lipped.
I am depressed- Argent and I were very good friends, spending a lot of time talking Star Trek or board games or even anime (of which I've always been on the fringes on)- plus he was the one friend I was most comfortable with talking about furry stuff. He was a good person with a golden heart; he flat out gave me several of the Eaglemoss Star Trek ships I have, and even though he was never keen on kids, he still helped us clean our house to get ready for my son and even seemed ready to be an honorary uncle... I find it almost fitting he passed away on Star Wars day, though I'm sure he would have preferred Roddenberry's birthday or First Contact Day.
The only thing that makes me mad was that it took his friends a month and a half to find out about this- it seemed clear that his folks didn't make one ounce of effort to find out even one friend that could spread the news or logged onto his Facebook and posted there. I know everyone grieves differently but it's frustrating that if they had a funeral already that people who cared deeply about him weren't able to go, and it leaves us in the lurch to try and do some sort of memorial way after the fact.
I'll miss you so very much, Argent. I was looking forward once this was all over to maybe go down to FC together, or Furlandia, just something. At the very least running into you randomly on some idle Tuesday at the game shop, and now...
Keep in touch with your friends and family. You never know.
